Leopard 2A4V: Ukraine's Reinvigorated Cat

IR sight means TVD. Not night sight.
You thought the same earlier.

For reference, here is the actual PERI R17 A2

IR sight means IR sight
It’s like on soviet tanks with Luna spotlight, same thing but without spotlight on Leopard. But it’s still called IR sight

Anyway he’s just a number off (R17 A1) and replace IR with NVD and he’s all good to go.

Thanks 🤙 I reworked this post from another Leopard post I had made.

It can fire the DM53A1 however, the ballistic computer isn’t programmed for it. It’s been seen loaded in the 2A4.

There was no proof that DM53 were used for Leo2A4 in Ukraine

  • And i doubt that it can even load DM53

The DM53 is a NATO round that can be interchanged between 120mm guns. The round is L/44 compatible.

Hehe no worries.
Lemme guess. Ukr leo 2A5

So ofc it can load and fire it

No lol, it was from my old Polish Sub-tree post. Just forgot to change it. Been looking at old projects

I sent you the information in a PM on where DM53A1 has been seen with the Ukrainian Leopard 2A4. The 47th Motorized Rifle Brigade uses it this way.

It’s worth noting there is more types of Ukrainian-modified Leopards:

Leopard 1A5DK(V)

  • Nizh-1M ERA on the UFP, Kontact-1 ERA on the sides of the turret, hull and LFP, and cage armor.

Leopard 2A6(V)

  • Kontact-1 ERA and cage armor on the hull and turret.

Strv 122A(V)

  • Kontact-1 on the hull sides and turret.

They’re not the best pictures due to the rarity of photos for these vehicles, but shows the similar modifications nonetheless.
I won’t be doing any suggestion for the 2A6 or Strv 122A, those are fair game for anyone.

Didn’t know the Leopard 2 could also fire cans. Are they empty or can you also use full cans?

Idk, the rounds look like they haven’t been modified but there isn’t too much information if they opened them to remove excess casings.

I could only find info on 130mm cans but here it is:
