Leopard 2 PSO Relocation — Official Confirmation and Research Grace Period?

Hello!

On the Eagle’s Shadow dev server, I noticed that the Leopard 2 PSO has been moved from the main Leopard line to the prototype line, after the Leopard 2K and before the EMBT.

However, I couldn’t find an official announcement about this change.

Could you please clarify:

  1. Is this relocation confirmed for the live update, or is it only being tested?
  2. Will the PSO be moved immediately when Eagle’s Shadow releases?
  3. Will players receive a grace period (for example, 14 days) to finish researching and purchasing the PSO through its original branch?
  4. If research has already started or the PSO has been fully researched but not purchased, will players still be able to obtain it without researching the new prerequisite vehicles?

Previous tech tree reorganizations were announced in advance, allowing players to plan their research.

This change significantly affects players who have progressed through the main Leopard line but have not researched the prototype line.

An official clarification before the update would be greatly appreciated.

the announcement was on the dev stream from Oxy. the showcase of features that didnt get a explicit devblog yet should be treated as their functional devblog, same for the announcement of Olifant Optimum yesterday or the hawk T.1a last update

while dev server is of course WiP and subject to change, that decision is almost certainly a finalised one so that you dont have to research every single top tier leo 2 to get to the 2a8

I understand why the developers want to make the Leopard 2A8 more accessible.

However, my main concern is about players who have already progressed through the original Leopard line specifically to unlock the Leopard 2 PSO.

Will there be a grace period to finish researching and purchasing the PSO before the relocation takes effect?

Or will access to the PSO change immediately when the update releases?

I would really appreciate an official confirmation from Gaijin staff, as this directly affects players’ research plans.

Its possible that a devblog to more formally annouce this change may be posted, the time until the major update (which is when i assume the change will happen) id guess will be the heads up grace period to unlock it though.

Unfortunately the update is due to come to live around the 10th of november (dev ends on the 7th, theres usually some final cleanup fixes and changes before implementation. the 10th of Nov also aligns with the typical time for the first autumn/early winter upadate going off of previous years) so there probably wont be much time to unlock it in its current TT location before it moves place.

(the date for the update to release on the live server is not confirmed until the day before, roughly the 10th of november is just an educated guess from gaijins release patterns. thats also the reason why you will see people online talk about when update trailers are due, its just pattern recognition)

Okay, I hope they will give us a grace period for the vehicle relocation, as usual.

We are still waiting for official information, but there is nothing yet. That’s a bit strange.

The timeframe to get this update and the christmas update out is remarkably small, the developers dont get much time to get these updates ready at all which may be why devblogs and features dont get as formal of a notice. I honestly feel bad for the devs having to output two major updates in two months. May be better to merge the two into one larger one slated for late november
