Legend of Victory: T-34-85 “Partisan”

The community update said there will be a US D-Day tank event in June

We may differ in our assessment of some guerrilla actions, but the guerrilla movement during World War II contributed significantly to victory.

Seems like only Russia, the U.S., China, and Germany exist in the game when it comes to getting event vehicles.

No I’m not, but I am for such a remark.

St George was from Cappadocia which is now in turkey and was what would now be counted as an ethnic greek. Hes my countries Patron Saint but not ours to claim exclusively, if others wish to herald him as a saint and role model in his history and legend who cares?

Hmn - whilst i appreciate your clarification from a Russian perspective i am not sure if this view is shared all over the world.

My general view on irrehular forces
  • Technically seen irregular forces fighting against foreign forces in an occupied country / territory are counterproductive for any somehow civilized warfare no matter which forces they fight or how noble their intentions might be.

  • The sole purpose of warfare is to declare a winner based on the exchange of raw violence between regular forces. So in case one side is defeated and surrenders hostilities have to end as anything else would require that the occupiers would have to intern all people in a fighting / combat age just in order to protect their own forces.

  • This would lead to a total collapse of the economy and food supply in the occupied countries and result in famines within the whole country.

  • You might look up what happens when occupiers are unable to provide food - just google Bengal famine 1943.

So anyways, i still see this choice rather critical as on one hand i understand and accept the views or Russian game developers (based on local perception) - but on the other hand gaijin claims to be a European and worldwide active enterprise. They might pick a side.

Have a good one!

Even better, let the players pick between the Soviet, American, British, and French vehicles in the parade. The IS-3 would be the obvious best choice but it would be so nice to have multiple options, especially if you could receive more than one. It’s been 80 years, that’s a milestone too significant for a single T-34!

The Yak-3 (e) is incredible in Enduring Confrontation. 0.3 BR drop is well worth the second machine gun. The ultimate 109 F-4 killer.

a special cromwell for britain, special pershing for the yanks, whatever the french had left and an IS3 would be awesome

Bad from a unique standpoint which it is, the YaK-3(e) brings nothing necessarily special to the table and especially during a significant period (that being the anniversary of Victory Day).

I’d have to look what was used in the parade by each country. I know though that Britain had Comets and the US had Chaffees. But yeah something like that
And of course the French almost certainly were using American tanks and not like B1s but what ya gonna do

A premium T-34-85 and this:

Most exited I’ve been for a vehicle in years. Really looking forward to these!

sarcasm right? Its a T34-85 with a one plane stabiliser. Its gonna be a 5.7 tank with an extra gizmo to push it to 6.3

Why would that be sarcasm? The T-34-85s are really fun vehicles and a stabilizer adds a lot to high mobility tanks. It’s going to be at a higher BR, but that’s fine. Who knows, maybe it’ll stay at 6.0 even though that’d arguably be too low a BR for it.

6.0 would be crazy for a 1-plane stabiliser but at 6.7 you have centurion mk2 which kicks it to death in every way. its probably gonna be stuck at 6.3 where its armour is not enough, its getting slow and the guns not as crazy as it once was while dealing with charioteers and 76w jumbo.

but hey cool flag draped on the turret right?

A lot of people can’t make use of a stabilizer, as you can see by a lot of people constantly discounting it as an advantage in balancing discussions around WWII BRs. So the thing might end up with stats bad enough to justify 6.0. 6.3 would be fine too, it’s not like the T-34-85 can rely on its armor at any BR either way. The Cent Mk 2 is arguably undertiered too, and that’s a BP vehicle which should have a better playerbase than a tech tree vehicle. Not like you have to play it, I know I’ll enjoy it as long as the BR isn’t completely unreasonable.

do we know if this is being added as a score event im confused

the standard one is 5.7. a stabiliser at this BR is a big deal, there’s also two other premiums at 6.3, the T34-100 which it will compliment perfectly as the lighter gunned but more stable platform peer and the T44-122 which is the same lacking hull as the BP tank but with a godly canon. can make a very good lineup there with a yak9 for CAS.
