There are many aircraft which have rather insane stock grinds for their BR and/or role which made sense a few years ago, but are no longer suitable for the current state of the game, as a result I describe these loadouts as “Legacy stock loadouts”
There are many many aircraft that fall within this category, too many for me to name and probably way more that I simply dont know about (please comment below with aircraft you think need a reviewed stock loadout)
Ground attack aircraft
First things first. Many ground attackers have stock loadouts that leave them woefully underpowered, including many that are limited to guns only, in aircraft that are not well suited for gunfighting.
Such as:
- Jaguars
- Super Eterndard
- Eterndard
- Harrier GR3/AV-8C
These aircraft should realistically all start with at a bare minimum, a few small bombs or rocket pods as part of their stock loadout, so that they can perform their primary role . The only one to get any loadout stock, is the Jaguar GR1A with Aim-9Gs, but imo, it should still get at least 2-4 540lb bombs stock.
There are almost certainly other aircraft that fall within this category, imo, all strike aircraft should start with at least a limited ground attack payload, and none should start with guns only (especially if their BR is dicated by said weapons, such as the Buc S2B)
SARH missile trucks
This is another area where aircraft that perform poorly in dogfights are forced to dogfight with usually highly inadequate IR missiles for their given BR and absolutely no SARH for a notable length of time.
Such as:
- F-4 Phantoms
- Tornado ADVs
- F-104
All these aircraft and im sure many more, should start with at least 2 of their early SARH as part of the stock grind. Relatively recently, we’ve seen ARH slingers recieve 2x ARH as part of their stock loadout for much the same reason, it is time for this to be resolved. It is unreasonable to expect an F-4 to operate at 12.0 with only 2x Aim-9Ds or the ADVs with 2x Aim-9Ls at the same BR.
There are other areas which need improvement, such as stock chaff at 11.7/12.0+ and IRCCM for all aircraft (where applicable) stock for anything at 13.0+ but these are less pressing imo, and the time has come for a full review and standardisation of stock loadouts for all aircraft, many are almost unplayable for a very long time, despite being excellent aircraft when fully spaded.
