Another fun one is how a single Kontakt-1 block is nearly equal in chemical protection to a 400mm “ERA” block on the Eitan, made 40 years later, and wildly outperforms the block in kinetic protection.
Even worse. This “ERA” block isn’t ERA at all and should be the same material as that found on the later Merkava Siman 4. It should be SLERA, like all Israeli tanks from Mk.3D onward, but Gaijin is too lazy to model another type of armor.

It’s not even ERA in real life. It’s a completely different material called “SLERA,” a hybrid of NERA and ERA that combines the effectiveness of ERA with the multi-hit protection of NERA.
Gaijin refuses to model it properly and instead alternates between treating SLERA as ERA or NERA, depending on whichever classification better suits the vehicle in their view.

Meanwhile, Leclerc’s Hyperbar system is yet to be modeled whatsoever, which is a major factor in its mobility

The reason it was denied is some serious garbage.
“The display panels at Nexter use mixed off-road/on-road speeds”
Yet both of those counterpoints are addressed in the report.
Again, the report shows, in 1.6, that it is WITH the Governor, not WITHOUT. The 72kmh top speed is even reported by users as doctrinal and maintenance related
They say it’s based on ‘People involved/Crew’. If Crew and People Involved with Leclerc aren’t accepted, how do they plan to get the classified information in the first place? And the report, 1.3.1, even verifies crew claims with an expedition poster that’s more recent than any of the other Nexter ones.
TL;DR, the fact this report is denied was one of the biggest flops in bug report history

Will not buff mobility in War Thunder.
War Thunder already over-performs in mobility for all MBTs; Yes, even the Type 10 over-performs by 2 - 5%, just most MBTs over-perform by ~20%.
So until Gaijin models drivetrains better, hyperbar isn’t going to change anything when Leclerc currently does not under-perform in mobility.
Turning is a different story, which this post is not about.
Regen steering will change mobility a bit, but is not the purpose of my post.

Numerically, Leclerc is underperforming, at least going off of real footage, but obviously I’m not gonna cram the entirety of Gaijin’s ground vehicle modeling issues into 1 message about 4 tanks

As for the drivetrain stuff; Yeah. Wow it’s bad. I really think there needs to be a LOT of changes. Wheeled vehicles are actually inbred in this game
One thing they could do is improve the trunion model for the leclercs, it might add some nice armor in the breach area. It is rather undersized compared to what one would find on say the t80s.

Doing that won’t have much effect, because the area not covered by the trunnion is still too large and too thin—it can even be directly penetrated by the 2S38 all the way to the ammunition rack.
Actually, I don’t have overly high expectations for the Leclerc. I don’t even hope for stronger ammunition or improved armor—I’m not counting on that at all. All I want is for Gaijin to fix the stiff steering. In actual combat, the steering often gets stuck and refuses to respond, and sometimes it even brings the Leclerc to a dead stop when it’s moving at high speed.
it would help reduce the size of the area and might reduce chances of penetrations through the breach and into the ammorack, they could also model the trunion for the 50.cal and also the gun shield between the breach and mantlet on the inside of the turret, again much like they have on the bvm.
I don’t know that i share your experience in this but if the mobility were to be improved i would welcome it :)
Improvements could be made to the protection, the mobility, and firepower. All are lacking compared to where they should be. The mobility issues are amongst the most crippling, however. Unfortunately, suggesting improvements to any of these facets invariably results in cries over Merkavas, or Challenger mobility/ammunition.
Gaijin doesn’t overly care, and the player base would sooner see Russia buffed than anything French brought up to parity.

Since the French player base is small and lacks influence, with few players actually playing this nation and even fewer backing up bug reports, Gaijin couldn’t care less about this minor country.
For this game, it seems that the louder the player community, the better the things they get.
Don’t just ignore that fact you had a suggestion mod passing wrong information just to have french stuff overpreform and in some cases haven’t been reverted
