Kpz and XM/MBTS

I still remember getting hull broken by just getting hit on the optics and nothing else with an apfsds, was so terrible that they even have to removed it

Only because they half baked it and didn’t put real effort into making it logical.

It should still be in the game albiet with a better form.

… they literally could’ve just fixed the hit boxes/areas that were hullbreakable but no.

They took the lazy route.

Do you think that they never tried to fix it? It was a flawed system to begin with.

Well, I said they took the lazy route. I would have LIKED if they had tried to fix it. But they didn’t.

Doesn’t really matter what I thought back then since this is where we are right now.

I wouldnt say that creating an entire new mechanic is a “lazy route”

This is obviously photoshoped/AI made. That only happens with Russian vehicles.

Ahem. Nowel, you need to read slower.

I said that removing the mechanic was lazy. The way they should have fix it was exluded certain round types, or sections of a vehicle by altering the qualifying damage boxes.

To clarify, I never said anything about them adding the mechanic to begin with - only the removal of it.

that’s what hull break was? I thought it applied to HE only, I would NOT want it to do that.

both should definitely apply at the same time for all (*sizes of HE filled) munitions, but needs to have a tweak to how the different capacities affect armor. internal overpressure should be affected by the volume of air inside the crew cabin with the volume that the blast can increase to dangerous pressures, and the tank’s resistance to separating critical parts (turret ring, crew hatches, blast panels for ammo, etc.). external overpressure should be affected by the total area that is exposed to the explosive at the weak spot.

of course, however, since overpressure is only a numerical value of penetration, we get 155mm tank shells that do barely anything more than 120mm shells, because overpressure reduces in effectiveness exponentially with size (as it should) but the immediate effect on denting and possibly bursting the hull stays at a reasonable effectiveness. (hull break)

Yes it was… btw half of the thing that you claim that could fix the old hull break wouldnt even matter as hull break was applied selectively, it wasnt a general mechanic, but something that only light vehicles had, even if an “mbt” armour was just as thick

Yes, exactly, it makes no sense that they couldn’t fix it. They were just unwiling to for one reason or another. They could just make hull_break_damage for KE projectiles a 0.

Yeah the spaced armor does a lot more than people realize

Yeah it also does it sometimes on era and composite armour as well, still for bombs just dont use assault fuze, i have been using like .5 s and mostly solves it, missiles sadly cannot do this

These arent the most egregious examples either btw you could trigger hull break with MACHINE GUNS regularly
