No, just no. It is not. When taking ground Canada was only using US stuff when everyone was using Shermans(heck the UK even paid for them so Canada would just build the Sextons)
For modern is Leopard. and our domestic IFV the LAV line has Swiss predecessors.
For Air, it is a lot of domestic versions of other designs as they are required to be built in Canada for jets at least. A lot more domestic props the even I thought there were.
It’s not even an option, it wouldn’t be competitive because of only having aim 9Ls and no guns. Even the DA4 could be an option, but not the DA2.
The Yak-141 wasn’t mounted with HMD, radar, or IRST, yet it has those in game, so a vehicle not having something in real life doesn’t mean it wouldn’t have them in game.

I hope GJ models the conformal fuel tanks. They look so cool and a hallmark of Israeli design.
The Yak-141 never had countermeasures ever. GJ absolutely guessed where they would go. No knowing if its technically possible or not. They placed CM on of of the tiny aire intakes which would surely block it lol.
The model we have in game is an imaginary serial production variant that is named after the prototype. If GJ gave it a made-up name, it would highlight how made up the jet is in the first place.

Personally, I’m happy that Gaijin has become more lenient with what they are willing to add, as there are tonnes of really cool vehicles that weren’t fully mounted with weaponry, avionics, et cetera, like the German VTOL aircraft, that can now be added.

Well that has yet to be seen.
We have only seen this fictional advantage given to the USSR. The USSR & Russian Federation is running out of aircraft and technology that was ever in service. Best believe they will add the Su47 and 37 etc.
But if the Yak-141 is able to come into the game with technology it never had or was never written it would have anywhere. Surely the YF-23 Black Widow II should come in, right?

There is also the F-16AJ.
The F-16 AJ is nothing more than a Japanese F16A. It’s not based on a prototype, nor is it offered with technology it never had. All the technology offered in the brochure is what we got in game. Actually less.
It is not the same as a Yak-141 in that is has technology never once mentioned it would have, ever.

I think the “prototype” Typhoon is gunna need to be an amalagam of prototype variants. DA2 is a reasonable name for it, but only really as a name. I’d say, when we get to that point we need a version that:
- Has the placeholder Tornado engines (thus the DA2 designation)
- Limited (but enough) CMs
- Limited hardpoints (fuel tank pylons for Fuel tanks only on this version, so cap at 10)
- Gun
- Maybe G/ AoA limiter, not much but a little, im sure early version did have one to start with
- Aim-9Ls (maybe Ms) but I think it should have AMRAAM, but could be Bs, I imagine by that point a few will easily be onto Cs
all in all, might be enough to bridge the gap. Give us something early enough that we arent totally DOA for ages, but not so strong, that every other nations moans about it.
We are getting the Mirage 4000 next.
Though the M4k is very fast and more in the strategic fighter class like the F15 and Su27. Won’t be as nimble as the EF and Gripen.
Well if they are gonna give a full spec typhoon, might as well just give us the F.2 then.
