Kings of Battle - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 1)

As long as I have to face the prospect of fighting F-15 and Gripens with a damn Phantom that only gets hold together by dreams, hopes and some flex tape the Luftwaffe engineer found, I wont stop

Which is fine, Tornado F3 and Sea Harrier FA2 with aim120 would be 12.3, rough fight, but manageable.

F-15 won’t be coming anytime soon

AMRAAMs won’t improve the situation

This is what we are saying. If Typhoon is off the table, then F15, Gripen, etc are probably also off the table. So what is left?

LCAs, Advanced Trainers, loads of gen 3 jets, commonwealth aircraft

The game isnt limited to gen 4

Yea the typhoon and Gripen share pretty much everything baring the radar

Gen 4 cat is already out of the bag. Trainers would barely be 11. More likely 10-11. Good additions but no help at 12+

Most Gen 3s left for Britain either are AMRAAM only for BVR or ground attackers.

Britain is not a commonwealth TT

I guess gaijin might consider Eurofighter Typhoon DA from RAF, Aeronautica Militare & Luftwaffe Q4 2024 or Q3 2025 but not coming to this year

So gaijin denied Eurofighter Typhoon this year

I might hope Gripen C with PS-05A/ Mk.3 radar from swedish air force this quarter but not sure consider this month ?

I guess Gripen C got something better Eurofighter Typhoon DA & Tranche 1 but performance, payload and maneuverability better Gripen A & Gripen C

Dude, you are way too focussed on the 12.0+ BRs and AMRAAMs/BVR

Well, yeah, duh…

Tornado F3 is uptiered in SB. It only faces 12.3s

All other British aircraft in game are ground attackers at top tier. Everything else is meh or played to death. Like FgR2 is 4 years old. If other nations get top tier next gen stuff every 3 months then Britain needs to get something, anything. Being limited to playing old stuff because we get no new stuff is boring as hell

Good thing Australia, South Africa and India have a broad selection of jets to help with that problem.
If you don’t want to see those being added then you’ll have to accept that you’ll be stuck with what we currently have and maybe a Hawk 200 in the future

How is the Gripen C off the table when we had confirmation that it is likely coming this year.

It’s also an aircraft that can be added to both britain and sweden, which coincidences with the statement last update.

Australia/Canada is F18, probably still come with AMRAAM

South Africa is Gripen wirh IRIS-T (more likely Gripen D RAF trainer with AMRAAM)

India no no no and another no. Does not belong in Britain

Hawk is 10.7 tops

BVRAAM as gaijin calls it was confirmed in development in the J8F Dev post earlier on the year. It’s coming. Full stop.

Comparable performance to early/prototype typhoon.

Also doesn’t help Germany

Well tbf the dev blog does not say fox 3s are coming this year just " , will appear in War Thunder at the same time in one of the future game updates."

Yeah, but makes sense. To be coming this year. Britain has been confirmed to be getting a new top tier aircraft. Unless that’s a ground attacker with Brimstone, that means AMRAAM.

If Gripen is confirmed then that’s AMRAAM only too.

The Hawk 200 is not 10.7 tops

The BVRAAM confirmation never specified a timeframe

F/A-18s aren’t limited to AMRAAMs and the Gripen isn’t limited to IRIS-Ts or AMRAAMs either

i hope we will get the Type-99 SPH for Japan this update.
Would love to see more SPH’es in general.

Brimstones won’t be coming for years with how the ground trees are looking right now
