I guess the Gripen could also go to Italy through Hungary too. Do we know what missiles those carried? We could see a similar situation with the F-16 where the Gripen gets added to multiple nations with some creative fiction for missiles until the right ones enter the game.

I think it was later missile. but yes, I could see that too. Though I guess Italy will be Av-8B+ and F-16 Upgraded with AMRAAAM and I think they “might” have had a slightly later F-16 as well. But like Britain, they did twiddle their thumbs waiting for Typhoon. So Hungarian Gripen might be needed depending on how long they wait.
But… Britain and Germany only really have 1 maybe 2 A2A jets left before they are out. Typhoon will come sooner rather than later I reckon and that would include italy

Honestly I am mostly just excited for my Swedish air to no longer be a toss up out of the four options I can only pick three sometimes two: A2A Missiles, A2G Missiles, Countermeasures, and a gun lol. The Gripen will finally allow me to not pull my hair out.

Yeah. as much as I’d hate the Gripen for Britain, it would be nice to have a jet, any jet that can actually do this thing called “turning”.
