Ki-51 sonia japanese Sturmovik

I think the versions should be implemented as upgrades. With Ki-43-I some people prefer to use 2x7.7mm instead of later 2xHo-103, because the ammo load is halved. That could be the case with this as well and those changes likely aren’t large enough to warrant different battle ratings.

It’s unfortunate no one seems to know the Ho-103 ammo capacity. I’d guess it was halved like with Ki-43-I subvariants. Many other planes had their ammo capacity almost exactly halved as well when they upgraded from 7.7mm to 12.7mm guns. Definitely 150rpg would be rather low, but still very viable if the performance is good.

Think this should be given the Ki-43 I treatment. Where it goes from an earlier variant to a late variant. When given modifications. However, this should also change the name just so people are more aware of which variant is being used. Seriously would love this in game.

Wiki says the armored version was the Ki-51B, but other sites say there were no variants - is there anything definitive about this?

The Japanese divide this plane into two versions: the Type 99 attack aircraft and the Type 99 reconnaissance aircraft .Both versions are very similar and differ in on-board equipment. Both are also armored. The English wiki contains an error because the plane was designed from the beginning as the first armored plane in Japan.

If it does come to the game, hope it has the Ki-43 I treatment as i said earlier. Since this plane definitely would be interesting for the said criteria it would also most certainly be helpful in other higher battle rankings.

At this point I must mention the Ki-71, i.e. the improved Ki-51. I may try to make suggestions about it soon, at the moment I have more interesting vehicles to suggest.

I honestly want the Ki-71 just because of the landing gear chage

Apart from the retractable landing gear, the Ki-71 has better armament.

Still only the 50 cals tho

As far as I know, it was equipped with a 20mm cannon.

Oh, the Japanese Wikipedia only has the two 50 cals.

Honestly 20 mm sound credible

Great suggestion thank you! Probably one of the last mass produced WW2 Japanese prop plane that is still not in the game with the G3M and early Ki-48. A must have for the game with such a massive historical use!

We need the Ki-46 as well

There are a lot of props not in the game. I would from a technical standpoint include the float planes as those are only accessible via ships. But that’s from a technical standpoint.
