Kh-38 got big buff (hipocrisy) and SPAA effectivness

aim120c5 has a greater reported range than the I-derby-ER irl when air launched. so in game slamraam probably gets a slightly better fox3 missile (in terms of range). the spyder can only carry 8 missiles at a time and in those 8 missiles u have to pick both python 5 n derbys so lets say 6 derby , 2 python 5 . compared to slamraams 8 aim120c5 + 4 aim9x at all times. slamraam is also faster and u kinda get 1-3 lives in it. i think the slamraam is outright better than the spyder.

Great? Doesn’t really say a lot about ground launch which has different launch parameters all together?

Maybe make judgement when both stuff are bit more functional no?

ah yes a smaller and lighter missile magically performs better than a bigger missile and i wonder why israel themself mostly use amraams instead of their own derby on their fighters.

Well, a smaller missile would have better aerodynamics and depending on how the solid motor propellant works, might even outranges it. So technically plausible?

maybe but its highly unlikely.

Also seems like they’re almost similar sizes though?
AIM-120C-5:
Length: 12 Feet (366cm, rounded)
Caliber: 7 inches (178mm, rounded)

I-Derby ER:
Length: 362cm
Caliber: 160mm

aim-120c5 is 157kgs probably has a bit more fuel ig.

is the 35kg difference all rocket fuel or does that include avionics and etc?

No. A lighter, smaller missile will have less propellant and less momentum to keep its speed after the motor burns out.

The Derby(and all it’s derivatives ) is a missile which makes considerable compromises in order to be able to fit on such small/light aircraft.

idk , unless israel was marginally ahead of america in terms of avionics tech (which is also unlikely , america is probably the most advanced) its probably just extra fuel. but i think aim120c5 is slightly older than the I-derby-Er so im not sure.

Then we should probably wait until it gets its kinks fixed (Both SLAM and SPYDER) before making judgement no?

imo slamraam is already better because it gets more missiles.

My god… These 4 changes would be a game changer to current radar. 3 beams and 30rpm is A LOT

Brimstones IOG drift is already artificially increased to stop this exact play style and make you guide them by laser.

Go and try it launched 6 at a truck in test drive from close range and longer ranges and the last minute they swerve to avoid the target. Shots that if it was a Hydra or a dumb rocket would hit Brimpebble misses.

Brimstone 2 would give increased range and no IOG drift…But that would be too op for the game…

because Brimstone doesn’t have GNSS?

“In-ordnance Guidance (IOG) means they will continue to track to their last designated position if the laser/lock is cut”

Doesnt do this in game at the moment, from 2km let alone 20km.

IOG drift in game is what causes Hellfires to miss and Brimstones. If we wanted to level the playing field Brimstone would be upgraded or binned for SPEAR. Yes no mmW but it would have GPS and SAL guidance and a longer range.

As it stands we receive new SAMs and Russias already powerful missile gets more features to effectively counter them.

Everything has IOG drift though? Even the ML once you lose laser. So I don’t really see the issue at hand here

Thats an extreme range, try it from 5km and below and get back to me.
And no not everything has IOG drift to the levels of Hellfires and Brimstones

Ain’t that realistic gameplay ranges, especially with new SPAA?

Not with Brimstone thats the maximum range in game realistic ranges are 3-5km
Which is why Brimstone needs buffed or replaced as Typhoons are just dead to a correctly modelled IRIS-T or a Spyder
