Brimstone 1 is too slow for these new ranges, but I’d still take it, having to guide them for 10 or 15 seconds with these new AA is going to be impossible.
brimstone 2 at least has the range. seeing as Germany complained their way into also getting brimstone missiles might as well make them good for the major nation that buys the most slop
I wouldn’t be surprised if Brimstones got some type of buff, but I doubt it, from now on Paveways are the way to go, at least they got GNSS and loft very well for a long time, so lobbing them from behind cover is gonna be the strat for dealing with something like Spyder and SLM. Good thing I only have to deal with SLS and Spyder, haha. 😁
(Pantsir and SLAMRAAM and the Type 81 ARH will be a pain in the butt still)
ill not bother with top tier until britain has its ones (it wont get them until 2026 lmao)
Kh-38MT should’ve been removed but the devs don’t care, there is no way of balancing it, unless you make it 2000 or 1500 SP to spawn, at that point just remove it from the game, ML is more than enough and takes more skill than just spamming space bar.
These new AA won’t really even out the playing field imo, not until we get better maps and spawns for these AAs to be fully efficient. It’s gonna be funny seeing people get dunked on anyway by Kh-38s because of how grossly overpowered they are.
Should hold your breath for this one. Bug reports for SLM time to intercept and it having broken DL just got accepted. Also Spyder is an incomplete hot mess
Yeah I have a bit of hope atm but seeing the gameplay from the dev server it looks bleak, a Su-30 was launching Kh-38ML from 13 km at 8km altitute and the SLM couldn’t even keep up. If it released right now, it would make aircraft without standoff weapons obsolete in GRB and Su-30/34 would still be the most oppressive aircraft in the game, alongside the Rafale.
But praying for something to be done about it, SLM is woefully underperforming.
Good thing the dev server gets updated almost daily and closes on the 9th. With some possibility of an extension too (seeing as how broken most of the stuff still are)
Radar is hopefully going to be partially fixed, made 4 reports on it that all got accepted.
AN/MPQ-64 Missing TWS ESA // Gaijin.net // Issues
AN/MPQ-64 Radar Scan Rate Too Slow // Gaijin.net // Issues
AN/MPQ-64 Insufficient Range // Gaijin.net // Issues
AN/MPQ-64 Missing Aircraft Identification // Gaijin.net // Issues
The TWS ESA fix would be the biggest overall imo as it would allow the C-5 to have continual IOG updates while guiding and even pitbull. Would greatly reduce the impact of multipath, the SLM will still be vastly superior in every way since it is terminal IR but it will help.
i dont think spyder will be that good sadly , it only gets 8 missiles max. funnily u can actually intercept derby/amraams from these spaas with the su30sm’s r77s its radar is good enough. while the slamraam gets 12 missiles (8 amraams + 4 aim9x) , i think aim120c5 has more range than I-Derby-ER which was stated to have a range of 100km when air launched.
You can’t really say it’s not good when it is really unfinished. It doesn’t even have the radar modeled right for starters, Python 5 is still mostly a placeholder, and I-Derby ER is also still using placeholders
current in dev-s C-5 only barely has 15km and 9X as i said is still non functional
aim120c5 has a greater reported range than the I-derby-ER irl when air launched. so in game slamraam probably gets a slightly better fox3 missile (in terms of range). the spyder can only carry 8 missiles at a time and in those 8 missiles u have to pick both python 5 n derbys so lets say 6 derby , 2 python 5 . compared to slamraams 8 aim120c5 + 4 aim9x at all times. slamraam is also faster and u kinda get 1-3 lives in it. i think the slamraam is outright better than the spyder.
Great? Doesn’t really say a lot about ground launch which has different launch parameters all together?
Maybe make judgement when both stuff are bit more functional no?
ah yes a smaller and lighter missile magically performs better than a bigger missile and i wonder why israel themself mostly use amraams instead of their own derby on their fighters.
Well, a smaller missile would have better aerodynamics and depending on how the solid motor propellant works, might even outranges it. So technically plausible?
maybe but its highly unlikely.
Also seems like they’re almost similar sizes though?
AIM-120C-5:
Length: 12 Feet (366cm, rounded)
Caliber: 7 inches (178mm, rounded)
I-Derby ER:
Length: 362cm
Caliber: 160mm

aim-120c5 is 157kgs probably has a bit more fuel ig.
is the 35kg difference all rocket fuel or does that include avionics and etc?
