I did testing with python, it is both easier and harder to flare than AIM-9M. Since it uses seeker shutoff and FOV shrinking, if you maneuver and flare properly you can get it to lose track of you really easily
I haven’t come across anything official that states Columbia or Ecuador ever received the Derby-ER.
Besides, the Kfir C.10 variants in service also use the Python 5, and we ain’t getting that anytime soon, so don’t expect the Derby-ER even if it did have it tbf…
I’m top of what was said above this message, gaijin was contemplating adding the Python 4 back when the Barack II was introduced, however held off on it and instead introduced Aim-7Ms to the plane.
I have one user mission with it, on the su57 maybe you know what im talking about. Anyway it looks like the python 4 looses energy way to quickly so im wondering wether its accurate or not.
It is very limited by the current implementation of missiles. They are not designed to have fins at the rear of the missile maneuver so it is only operating at half of its capacity which means that it will lose more speed because of longer lasting turns
