30 years of service of the legendary Colombian lion cub
In 2019, the Colombian Air Force commemorated the service of the Kfir fighter-bomber at Palanquero Air Base (Captain Germán Olano) within Air Combat Command 1 (CACOM 1). For this important military celebration, the FAC added this decal to some of its Kfir aircraft and conducted demonstration exercises throughout the country.
The decal depicts a gold-colored lion along with the inscription “30 años” (30 years in spanish) and was placed on the aircraft’s tail wing. Clearly, the lion gives meaning to the Hebrew name of the aircraft (Kfir: lion cub) and highlights the strengths with which this aircraft has been identified, which by that year (2019) had represented the spearhead of the Colombian air force for 3 decades.
The number of aircraft that carried this emblem is unknown, but it can be seen in the images that at least 2 aircraft (single-seater and two-seater) of the C.10 and TC.10 variants displayed them during the celebration. This decal would be a great addition to the game, providing variety for a holiday or complementing the monthly decals collection.
