Kawasaki Ki-100-Ib (川崎 キ100乙 五式戦闘機)
The Kawasaki Ki-100-Ib is a modification of the Japanese Ki-100 fighter, which was created in 1945. 99 or 118 aircraft in this version were built. These planes served until the end of the war.
History
The Kawasaki Ki-100-Ib was developed to improve visibility for the pilot. It is not entirely known when the aircraft was developed, but it was put into production in May 1945. Between 99 and 118 aircraft in this version were built. These planes were used to defend Japan, where they performed very well thanks to better visibility. One of the surviving Ki-100-Ib with the number 163365 can be seen in the Royal Air Force Museum in London

Construction description
The Ki-100-Ib aircraft is very similar to the Ki-100-Ia that is already in the game, so I will describe the modifications that have been made to it.

  1. Removed the cockpit fairing and installed a new “bubble” cockpit glazing
  2. A new oil cooling system cover is used, which is located under the engine

Armament
The Kawasaki Ki-100-Ib is armed with two 20 mm Ho-5 cannons in the nose with 200 rounds per cannon and two Ho-103 machine guns in the wings with a supply of 250 rounds per machine gun. Some planes had Ho-103 guns removed in order to reduce weight, which made the plane more maneuverable. The aircraft can be equipped with two 250 kg bombs or two 200-liter fuel tanks.

Summary
The Kawasaki Ki-100-Ib is a very interesting aircraft for Japan in War Thunder. Thanks to better visibility, it will be a pleasant fighter for simulator players. This aircraft was a terror of American fighters and bombers and is ideal for a training camp with the Ki-100-Ia, which is already in the game. I encourage you to discuss in the comments and to share your own knowledge on this subject.
Finally, I apologize for the linguistic and logical errors because unfortunately English is not my main language and I had to use google translator.

A +1 from me, would be nice to see more Ki-100s!

You got couple of mistakes there. Ho-5 ammo load was 2x200rpg, so 400 total. Armor was the same as in Ki-100-Ia, meaning 16mm upper plate and 12mm lower.

It is possible for the plane’s weight to slightly different to razorback variant, but there doesn’t seem to exist any records of it.

+1

I’d love to see the mass-produced variant of the Ki-100 without the “razorback” type canopy. Especially because the only surviving Ki-100 is a Ib also.
