Karrar prototype: event vehicle for USSR?

Because USA got the F-14A IRIAF should the USSR get the Karrar prototype.

From what I see online its a T-72 brought up to T-90MS standards (but not a T-90MS), but a little heavier at 51 tones instead of 48. Karrar uses the same 125mm, same armor and a copy Relikt ERA and the same engine.

I could see this going at BR 11.7 as it would be a slightly less mobile T-90M, no spall liner or the side ERA bag modification.

It’s russian tech.
In Iran.
A Russian ally.
There’s no other nation or should go to.
Premium only though i think.
Or squadron

Very cool looking, I don’t play Russia but I’d grind an event for that 100%

Iranian independent TT would be sick.

The hanging flag would add around GJN50 on the vehicle value.

I’ll be honest i think Russia has had too many event tanks/premiums recently, I’d rather see this in the tech tree, the BVM hasn’t had a proper counterpart since the newer t90.

It’s a sexy tank, I’ll give it that. +1

For those who claim that this tank is simply a copy of, or a licensed version of, Russian tanks:

This reflects one of Iran’s military design policies. For example, the Zolfaqar tank was developed despite Iran having no access to any version of the Abrams tank, although the Zolfaqar shares a similar overall design.

The same applies to the Karar tank.

Compared with the T-90M, the Karar is claimed to have:

A more advanced fire-control and targeting system.
More advanced explosive reactive armor.
A smaller overall profile.
Higher speed.
Better and faster reverse mobility.
Greater firepower.
Improved gun stabilization, allowing better firing performance while maneuvering.

These are the main differences often cited between the Karar and the T-90M.

Maybe that’s why it hasn’t been added to the game—because no amount of balancing (nerfing) could fully offset its claimed superiority.

Honestly this is not the best comparison. The similarities are only found in the exterior armor design and that’s where they end. It’s a T-72 hybrid at the end of the day, anyone can make an Abrams shell if they wanted to, but what’s on the inside of those two tanks is VASTLY different. Not that I can provide a better example for comparison lol

Of these claims I find the ones I’ve specifically quoted above to be bogus.
It’s based on a T-72, so its profile should still be about the same as what it’s based on, and from I’ve seen it is.
The FCS could be stronger, but I’d like to think Russia’s systems on the most modern MBT would be stronger than this ones (possible but I’d like sources).
I do not in any way believe that Iran has more advanced ERA for their tanks than Russia, anyone with an understanding of their ERA development over the years knows how unlikely it is, more than likely just another propaganda claim.
I HIGHLY doubt the reverse speed statement, would require a new transmission section entirely and lengthened hull (Again, needs sources).

It’s a very interesting tank, and although it isn’t as capable of the T-90M it’s trying so hard to be, it could find itself just a bit too high in BR to be a side section vehicle. How Gaijin could just go ahead and place the Islamic Republic or Iran as a Subtree for the USSR already and set it in the main tree, but it could be many updates before something like that every occurs.

Iranian vehicles are just from one of those nations that are in limbo until gaijin decides what to do with them, much like Ukraine. Fingers crossed we see them eventually.
