+1, insightful writeup about the vehicle’s history, lovely vehicle!
In fact its the opposite. Our history class always referred to Korea as a part of Japan during the period, and it really is the only time when we talked about the Korean region at all (we didn’t get to Korean war), with various statements on how koreans supported war effort of Japan. But since I was in an american school, maybe this was because of bias, so lets focus on game implementation.
I like the idea of United Korea as a tree, but with various concerns. Is this unjust to other minor nations? For example, Hungary just got included in the Italian tech tree, China essentially consists of communists and nationalists, etc. What makes Korea special that it deserves to be treated specially? Is there a clear, specific method of ruling that would justify it?
Maybe somewhere in the united korea thread explained it but i had a brief look and didn’t fine anything useful (and especially taking consideration into comparison with other countries). The closest argument I can find was that Japan did not unite with Korea to develop military, but that doesn’t seem too reasonable because some subtrees in a tech tree also have practically no intersection in military technologies, for example republic and communist China.
Anyway, overall I feel like asking for Korea as a seperate country instead of Japan is weird as it is de facto a part of Japan, at least under the flag they used before and during WWII.
Disclaimer Sorry for any offense that may have been taken from this post, I don’t mean to trigger people, I intend to make a logical post. I want to see the amazing korean technologies no less than any of you, but I also want to make sure that every country is treated fairly. If you happen to have a logical agrument on why Korea as a seperate tree is justified even taking into consideration of the status of other tech trees, please explain to me as I would love to know a just and uncontroversial approach to implement the tech tree.
I deeply regret the selection of the curriculum of your local educational institution.
The Japanese imperialists and historical revisionists have achieved some of their goals
I’ll tell you one logic that’s necessary for the game, except for political logic
Is there any reason to unite two countries with no military exchanges or military technical alliances into a single military set?
I am Japanese, but I am against integrating Korea into the Japanese tree.
Korea should be an independent national tree.
Korea has many attractive vehicles.
If they are integrated into the Japanese tree, they may not be able to ride the vehicles they want to ride.
As other users have stated, there are no defense industry ties between Japan and South Korea, so it is not appropriate to incorporate South Korea.
If other countries are to be included in Japan’s tree, it should at least include small countries that cannot constitute a national tree by themselves.
as i said, there is a thread about United Korea tech tree.
already there were several debates about why United Korea is the only way to see Korean vehicles in-game.
Hungary, Italy both were axis during WWII and they shared their vehicles.
China, Taiwan, both claim they are only one true china, so putting them together also makes sense.
as I said this a couple of times in the united korea TT thread, you should go there and read the whole thread.
that will explain
i mean, if added right now most likely would be added to germany, so that would be fun
South Korea tried to sell the K2 Black Panther to Oman back in 2018 but failed because the K2 uses German components and the German government refused the Koreans to export the tank. I just hope they add the cool sunshade as part of the desert camo.
Gajin doesnt even change csmo nets dependingnon the map, so i doubt this will happen
+1 would be great to see in game. Either in Polish tech tree because Poland uses normal K2’s under the name K2 GF or in the Korean tech tree.
+1
Not really. It would make the most sense to put it into the US TT as either a premium or part of a larger sub-tree as South Korea and the United States have extensive political and military ties. I can’t really think of a nation better suited.
If she is going to be in the game, I think k1 should also be in the game.
Very true much like where to put North Korea in the Tech Tree. ROK is faced with the same dilemma nothing against ROK but I (now if I was on the DEV Team) wouldn’t place them in US tree as I think its a disservice to the advancement of ROK. Same can be said for North Korea if placed under the China tree.
Thank goodness this isn’t my call as I’m sure many would just disagree with my choices.
But bring the K2 on regardless where it is placed by the DEV teams.
I think they should have a united tree like China, again both claim to be Korea.
It would provide a unique fusion of vehicles some modded some not, and a home for domestic vehicles from either nations.
C&P isn’t a concern because the people playing the C&P vehicles would just be playing the same vehicles in the USSR, Chinese or US tree’s anyway.
That would be one solution that is every bit as valid as any argument.
Exactly my opinion as well, I dont get why people has so much problem with C&P vehicles, as long as its not presented as the main thing in a major update - C&P vehicles have their place in-game. Also its good that players are now warming up to the idea of a separate independent tree for both Koreas, I can remember how much pushback the suggestion for a Thai subtree had originally.
+1. However, considering that there is no suitable tree for this tank. It seems to me that it’s time for the game developers to abandon the division of trees by nations. There are too many problems with politics.
US TT could work. The two nations have extensive political and military ties. The only argument I can think of that has any weight against it being in the US TT would be that the tree doesn’t need it, which I feel is a weak argument as by the same logic as you can use that argument against a lot of vehicles and even entire tech trees, and they were still added.
