To the War Thunder developers, did you (A) take notice of the heavy FPS drops in recent program versions - as documented here and on Steam, and (B) are you working on that problem to solve it? I know this game since 2013, play it intensively since 2017 and have spent 500+ Euros into it. Please fix this technical problem.
NO I won’t file a complete doctoral thesis as a bug report;I am not wrong since many people around the world have the same problem. AND don’t you dare to tell me this is the wrong subforum or whatever bullshit, NO. Read here or quit.
The devs need to read this and to react. Please bring fluent 60 fps, medium graphics settings, back as it was before up to late 2024.
i7-7700HQ 16 GB, nVidia GTX 1050 4 GB driver up-to-date, Windows 10 up-to date
The common fix is clearing out the cache folder, the compiledshaders folder, verifying game files, optimizing and verifying your settings, after clearing the settings out.
nVidia Shadowplay is really impactful on FPS, and can cause this sort of thing if the game is on the main drive, as well as windows, and the game itself. Shadowplay can be recording multiple copies of the same footage at the same time and that causes a lot of trouble. ATi also have something similar, disabling it to make it manual is the true way to go.
Multiple drives make everything better, and even moreso if it’s SSD or NVMe. I have 4 SSDs, 2 for windows, 2 for games.
I’m on console not pc, I used to play War Thunder on a laptop before the launcher stopped working and then the laptop decided to start taking 15 just to turn on
The problem is basically gone with version 2.43.0.80, on my system as described above.
I could not recreate the very same graphics settings as before though. Especially for the render resolution, I have now set the minimum of 3 options whereas, IIRC I had it at max before. But all in all, I get now 60 fps most of the time again, and so far did not notice any microstuttering.
