Never had either if im not mistaken

Internal gun was removed to make room for the extra seat and extra internal fuel tanks iirc and I dont think the Gripens ever used any form of Gunpod.

Morvran is correct; the Gripen has never had a need for a gunpod because its gun is easily enough for the limited use it would see, and the two-seaters didn’t keep the gun because they weren’t meant for dogfighting.
Additionally, the Gripen wasn’t equipped with the 30mm gunpod from the Viggen because by the time the Gripen went into service, the gunpod was severely outdated and, as I said above, unnecessary.
This is a game that tries (at least a little) to be realistic, so you can’t add stuff that didn’t exist just because you want it.

Gaijin will add a 9mm pistol and there will be the option to make an agreement with the enemy to land on a random patch of dirt, get out of the aircraft, and duel

Which really makes you wonder why they decided that for the lone SV instead of something competitive from the subtrees we supposedly have in the tree.

Its the ideal squadron vehicle, something neat and cool to have, but not missing out on much by not putting it in the research tree

This.

Better have a semi capable collector’s piece than having Su-33, MiG-29M or AH-56 behind a soft paywall

Vehicles in the game are modeled after their real life counterparts and can only use ordinance and munitions they are capable of using in real life.

The JAS39D doesn’t have an internal gun because it’s a two seater trainer aircraft but it can still use all the external munitions that the JAS39C can, sadly a gun pod is not something any of the JAS39 version can use IRL.

OMG, the Gripen D was made to have without guns!!!

sad

that we need
