It’s only performing marginally worse in turn performance, and that’s it. Currently you have a better acceleration and better top speed, which gives better kinematics to the platform (which is a great improvement considering how short-range the JAS-39C is currently). The MICA would be nice, but it doesn’t desperately need it.
The actual problem, though, is that it’s lacking the proper wing profile, which effectively increases the wing loading, therefore making the turning performance artificially worse than it should be. But purely air RB wise ? It would do quite fine in the current state.
The IRIS-T is at the corner and will complement it when the meta allows it.
The only thing of which this play style will suffer from will be the competition, since better platforms will receive arguably better missiles than the IRIS-T (J-10C and the Raf with respectively the PL-10 and the MICA IR (NG) for example).
And the meteor. Altho that will probably be a while. Mica has some of the same properties as a meteor aswell afaik the meteor is developed from the mica
It should be compatible, there’s no real reason for it not to be. Especially not in light of renewed efforts to sell the E to India. But “should be” is not “is compatible”.
Would be very odd for Sweden to abandon the practice of selling the platform to be integrated with weapon stores already in a country.
The Meteor is indeed part of the MICA family of missiles, but the resemblances stop at the seeker. The Meteor is an entirely new design and philosophy and won’t be able to be used the same as a MICA. Also IRL a Meteor upgrade is at the corner. They may use the advancements of the MICA NG AESA seeker to upgrade the design.
Meteor is not from the MICA family. Meteor had a competitor offered from MBDA when proposals were requested for what became Meteor that was a derivative of MICA, but Meteor is separate.
Same bind that can be used to activate an air to ground lock removes the lock on other weapons. SPICE in my experience on Dev is not losing lock when the bind is pressed after locking a point. I do not have Israeli rubbish to check against.
