They are only credited as “provided by” those 2 specific images of brimstone with 39-9, while all other ones also taken in dark hangar have normal compression artifacts and definitely not whole picture of perfect blacks.
I would love something that made them real but they are different to the same “black hangar” images of 39-8 which are definitely photos taken by real sensors (minus the standard - how real is something hanging under a plane on airshow display)

is it just me or this means it’s not compatible with AIM-9L/M since it only supports IRIS-T and isn’t compatible with 9X despite it being having backwards compatibility with 9M
How do you draw the conclusion that something is incompatible when telling the client state that any weapon of their selection can be fitted to the platform?
Lol i was looking at exactly the same. I found quiet an effective way of finding decent sources on stuff like this. I can go into details if anyone wants just dm me :)
It’s compatible with basically everything. It’s just a matter of what the purchaser wants to integrate. Gaijin can pick and choose what they want, basically every top tier out there uses placeholders to missiles that aren’t in the game yet. They’ve done so before giving 39A 9M’s and Skyflashes (the gripen doesn’t even have a CW illuminator lol)

if 9M was compatible then so is 9X
That is explicitly what they’re telling the customer. It is right there, in the text. 9X is significantly newer and they state it can be fitted to the platform if so desired.

why is 9L/M not mentioned among the already-compatible weapons though?
IRIS-T is a pretty baseline IR missile for gripen i think
Because the clients for Gripen use IRIS-T. Sidewinders can be fitted, they just aren’t.
9X is already inferior to IRIS-T so why mention something even worse as an option

I was trying to avoid just outright saying the American provision was shoddy so I wasn’t jumped for it, but yeah.
some nations might be only able to buy 9X or not allowed to buy IRIS-T
