We argued about the gripen ng one time and i gave up because i got tired. However your last argument was wrong. Did you even read what it said in the link? You provided zero evidnece, and they called it “gripen demo” and not gripen e. You were honestly just dragging it out and making it a pain, trying to justify something that was obviously wrong. You are arguing semantics.
If i remember recently a bug report about both brimstones and spice 250s got rejected for gripen C (hopefully the E will have them or people will make bug reports about it) which were specified by SAAB to be compatible with gripen C but were rejected on basis of something like (im gonna paragraph its been a few weeks) “these are just possibilities listed by the manufacturer” which is pretty weird.
If a primary source (idk how much more primary than SAAB brochures you could get outside of contacting them personally) says “yea the gripen C could use these weapon systems” and gets rejected thats just kinda sad.
Also on the extra armaments, the 9Ms are understandable since they use IRISTs iirc which are not ready to be implemented for air combat, and the G mavs could genuinely get yeeted imo. The Rb75Ts are pretty solid, i use them extensively for the A gripen.
I sincerely hope it is not the Gripen-E but instead one of the Gripen NG testbeds.
The Gripen-E’s should come ne only when we have an EW update and/or Meteor/IRIS-T.
Because if Erik comes now it will be just a Gripen-C with 3 more Air-to-air missiles.
With the innumerable radar issues gaijin keeps not fixing, like Gripen C as far as i know still has a blue vixen radar and not actually the PS-05/a which is stated. With this update all the issues the Ceasar has, they will be pushed even further down the totem pole of importance as i doubt this patch will be the first bugfree update.

I mean, better engines, better radar, more pylons for amraams which is currently an issue with the C, possibly new A2G weapons.
It would still be an upgrade upon the C we do have ingame, with hopefully the same wonderfully responsive flight model but better thrust to weight ratio

Yeah, but it is heavier with a larger airframe as well, while it should get acces to the spice family, RBS-15, aim-120 c8 (if not meteor).
I fear with gaijins history regarding the Swedish tech tree (any minor nation for that matter) and their disregard to implement armaments, systems and more.
Certainly I hope they do the Erik justice, believe I really do hope so but their history hasn’t really proved that they will.

I think it would be a good thing to get this update given that other nations are getting AESA radar planes as upgrades to already existing top tier jets (in case of the french… here have a second copy paste rafale)
Yeah, but giving us an NG testbeds which has tested (on what I believe to be 4 different airframes) different features that made it on to the E (and some that didn’t).
Such as the raven, the new Wings etc. this way when they have more time to actually develop the real Erik and they have some leeway in what to implement.

we will have to see but i for one am looking forward to gripen E. A and C have been probably my most fun planes to play (tho my swedish 12.7 GRB WR is kinda trash rn thanks to an unnamed helicopter and us having only really the Ito to combat it) so if gaijin manage to make the E have the performance of A or C with just stronger engines for better dogfighting, im really looking forward to it. As for C-8s im doubtful we will see better fox 3s (or fox 2s for that matter) be added any time soon which honestly, the B amraams are sufficient enough.
As I said, I really hope they do the E justice, i just simply dont believe they will.
And if giving us the NG, we can still get these upgrades or some of them (including AESA and more A2G options)
And they dont have to fuck up the E in the Meanwhile.

What do you mean more a2g weapons? The ng uses the raven btw. I dont think sweden has better a2g weapons than mavericks and taurus. They might add brimstones though. Britain doesnt have the camm-er, and Malaysia doesnt have the kh 38.
I am not sure if we trialed GBU-53’s or if the Swedish government was just looking at them as an option, but I know the Israeli Spice family has been mounted on Gripens as well as brimstones, and we can’t forget BK-90 and RBS-15.
What do you mean brimstones? Sweden doesnt own them.
SAAB has offered Brimstone with Gripen purchases which means that while Sweden itself has not bought them outright to outfit their own, they can still be integrated.

Since they were never used in service but only technically possible it’s then up to dev’s decision to give or not give those munitions to Gripen. I think this is the case for all aircraft.

Armament and ammunition have as far as i know always been up to dev’s decision and balance choices. We just have to prove that it is possible at all for it to even be a choice for them to begin with.
I even think the exact same source was used for giving it the AGM-65G if i remember correctly.

Dw I put in a bug report nerf that would bring it closer to real ps05 instead of blue vixen. It’s just hard finding sources on this radar with hard specific numbers
