But isnt the NG just a technology demonstrator, wich was further developed into the Gripen E/F? Its basically a upgraded Gripen B/D, but it was used to test new features and improvements. That would more fit as an event/premium or squadron vehicle tbh.
Gripen ng was a demonstator, an upgraded jas 39 d.
Funny thing that you mention that it is the dev’s decision for balancing when the russians have had overpowerd a2g missiles for years now and most of their seekers are ment to lock building and not tanks, but still somehow does. The worst one (kh38mt) never even existed, so if you think they add stuff for balancing you are far off

You might not agree with their way of balancing or their decisions therein, but it is very much a fact that munitions are up to balance decisions and not historical accuracy.

JAS39D is the 2 seated trainer aircraft based on model C. I.E the plane all gripen pilots fly before getting to fly the single seat version.
As the JAS39B was the school version for the JAS39A
NG is next generation and was what SAAB called the E model before it became the E model.
What you are talking about is the Gripen Demonstrator (it’s only 1 example of this aircraft) a test bed that they use for all different things and yes it’s based on JAS39D but it’s not the NG.
It was originally called gripen demo or (39-7). Saab marketed it as gripen ng demonstrator because it was a physical machine proving the ng concept.
Brazil uses SPICE bombs for their Gripen E jets so i think the Swedish one should get SPICE’s

Starting to worry a bit that it will be delayed until next update. No evidence of that, but expected it would be added today if it was coming. Again, this is just my cynical opinion. If it is not here tomorrow….ugh
We keep seeing new JAS39E assets pop up in the files so I’m positive it will come this update.

I mean if it dont come then a margin of the community will get mad and gaijin dont want that, and so as well they kinda confirmed it in the devstream
I’d almost prefer they delay it to another update rather than push it out in a rushed unfinished state…
