The spreading out is only for the chaff i can imagine. I think the ir bands/flares would be alright. The chaff im iffy about and that would most likely just burn up
Consider you have directed flare dispensers I would imagine it would work just fin shooting them out under the wings.

Im hoping to see major improvements today. Like split belly pylons. Extended trailing edge on wings and rhe flight model updatet. The Proper HMD and voice warning system would be cool aswell
The IR for BOL is not a solid flare but rather a cloud of many small IR “confetti” so to speak, sort of the same as you would imagine chaff to look like. So the risk of the exhaust from the engine at several hundreds of degrees could destroy them before they get the chance of being effective is likely higher than one might think.

If that’s the case then probably, bot BOL tends to be electronically ejected towards the rear.
Everything on DEV server is always WIP so anything is possible unless the Community Managers or DEV’s say something else.
Right. My bad i thought the gripen used the “solid” type flares
Yeah they only burst flare particles thats why they have lower IR multiplier than regular flares.
To me its still sad to see that the gripen e currently is in between a gripen NG or very early E variant.
If this is in game. That explains why i often feel like my gripen flares do less
The internal ones and the ones on the back of the pylons are of the solid type, its just the launcher ones that are BOL :)

Yep, there are already a couple of reports on BOLs effectiveness that have been forwarded as suggestions, i think the main issue is that the WAY BOL works isn’t really a mechanic in game yet so they just model them as smaller flares.
Bol got nerfed back then because gripen was over performing now when typhoon came with bol and some other people jump back saying un nerf the bol because duh now our jet will recieve benefits not gripen honestly bol should remain like this till they can actually model it properly like actual bol that completely creates a ir wall
I think it got “nerfed” because all countermeasures in-game are using the weight of the countermeasure to determine effectiveness and BOL doesn’t weigh much at all.
Which is wrong btw. Bol should have more or less equivalent performance, but dissipate sooner.
The only times i have effectively used the bol flares was when spamming mike 20 preflares. So the weight condition explains it
I think I read somewhere that there is a document that quantifies the effectiveness of CM .
