Japanese Mikojan-Gurewicz MIG-25P Foxbat-A - Red 31 on vacation

I support this one if next japanese additions doesn’t compete for themselves, then the MiG-25P can be a good addition to sustain the tech tree in some way which lacks on long range engagements airplanes, something only exclusive to the end of the line.

Yeah, they’re an odd bunch of planes. In effect, the US Navy contracted a private American company to perform restoration on their Me 262 B-1a. They gave them the go-ahead to completely dismantle the aircraft to study and create five replicas that could be sold to collectors, which they did. They also substantially improved the aircraft and used Non-Afterburning J85s to power them. Airbus and the German Government also got involved to help register them in Europe, and for said reason, they all got Werk-Numbers and were added to the Me 262 production logs as official late production, American-built Me 262s.

This aircraft was never flown by Japan if that’s what you mean.

The aircraft may not have been flown with Japanese pilots but the aircraft was studied UNDER Japanese supervision. It wasn’t a USA only affair and the US in this case, had to play ball with Japan and share whatever they discovered. The US never got to fly it either iirc.

The entire study of the aircraft was done in Japan then was shipped back to the the USSR. It wasn’t actually kept by the US.

If this can be placed in another tree other then the USSR, Japan deserves it more than the US.

Instead India could get it under Britain, different variant but supposedly those had weapons and they flew it unlike Japan XD

I’d like to point out that the MIG-25P is the worst version of the MIG-25, especially for War Thunder. Hypothetically, at the same time as the Japanese MIG-25P, the Soviet Union could get the much better MIG-25PD, MIG-25RB, MiG-25BM, or even MIG-31.

This is the third proposal that feels questionable. The F-16 AJ seemed impractical from the start and is even less relevant after Thailand’s addition, and should be removed. The F-14 also doesn’t seem to fit well. There are already many aircraft tested by various countries, and the F-15 is already available in Japanese tree. Overall this concept feels unrealistic, almost like a one-off from a defector, and at this rate the next suggestion might be something completely outlandish. (Godzilla) -1

Premium yes tt no, if this can be added like t-62(even though it has been returned) it would be 🤩

I dont have anything against this. It’s a very cool suggestion and well researched.
But I’m generally not in favour of captured vehicles unless they were put in service.
And even then, there are a lot of reservations.

Absolutely not.
I feel like this is just a joke. At this point, everything should be added to japan.

“Everything should be added to Japan”. Japan could acquire as many as two aircraft (an F-14 and a MIG-25P), yes, those are all the world’s aircraft. Every country captured enemy or tested allied aircraft. The USSR could receive Vietnamese F-5s, Israel could receive Polish MiG-29s, etc. The MIG-25P Red 31 could go to Japan, but it could also be a USSR event vehicle.

Not even, the US captured more later on so it’s more deserving of them. Neither should get Foxbats though since there is really no reason for the US or Japan tree to have Russian made MiG-25’s

I voted No, but… $90 premium when? lmao

I appreciate the effort you’ve put into this post!

But I voted ‘no’ for 2 reasons:

  1. I believe the MiG-25PD is the only Foxbat that can be appropriately balanced in this game. The earlier versions would be effectively useless in the playstyle of WT without a gun, CMs, or effective missiles. They would also be likely too fast for the low BR they would need to be placed at. The PD would have decent R-60 missiles (with a total load of 6 AAMs) as well as countermeasures.

  2. I am personally opposed to one-off captured vehicles when so many other notable planes are missing, especially from “minor” nation trees like France.
