Japanese Mikojan-Gurewicz MIG-25P Foxbat-A - Red 31 on vacation

The US captured or got it’s hands on pretty much every Soviet and Axis aircraft at some point or another

That doesn’t answer my question, nor do I know why you’re asking me one

It accelerated the development of the F-15 which became the most successful air superiority platform in history. Still a horrible reason, neither Japan or US should get MiG’s

Pretty much this. Until I see evidence that it temporarily received Japanese markings, I’m going to leave my tentative -1.

I would be OK with this idea.

What does it change though, it’s just paint

Identification

This is not my opinion, that’s Gaijin criteria for adding stuff like this, that is why we have the Japanese F-16 and Swedish attack Helicopters

What does that have to do with anything? How does that give a vehicle the right to be used under another nations military tech tree and carry their colors? Makes absolutely no sense, every generation of Soviet MBTs and German WW2 heavy tanks can be argued to have had great influence on American and allied military in general, why do i then get to add them to my American line up? What is even the point of having nations at this point? this is just ridiculous

That would show me it was intended to serve under the JSDF/JASDF at one point, and thus make it more valid in my opinion.

Adds uniqueness to it, and identification could be helpful in some game modes that lack markers.

For me it’s a -1, as although it’s a historically important vehicle and one I wouldn’t mind being added as a skin someday, I don’t think it’s something worth adding to Japan as its own separate vehicles ingame due to its lack of the ability to be armed at all by Japan (even if compatibility was retained) and its lack of unique distinctive visual features. Good suggestion and well detailed history section, well done on that!

There was never any chance of it serving under the Japanese. How would they get parts? Who knew how to repair and service it?

I think this is more of a broad statement about captured vehicles, many of which were repainted and actively used for service or testing

Example of the US Fw 190 A-8 which was repainted for testing. This just helps solidify that the aircraft is owned and used by the USAF.

I don’t think the US should have a FW190 either. But afaik the Japanese didn’t really fly it around a ton, and I haven’t seen even a roundel on that MiG-25

Sure, there are a couple of captured Me 262s they could add for the US. However, my preference would be for them to add the US-built Me 262s from the early 2000s. Legally and officially, they’re considered late-production Me 262s and even have Werk-Numbers assigned to them by Airbus (via its ownership of Messerschmitt) and the German Ministry of Defense. They also have some internal improvements and use superior engines to the wartime 262s.

The US did capture a couple of Iraqi MiG-25s 25s actually, so there is precedent for the US getting one. The thing was even deemed important enough to the development of the USAF to be featured in the National Museum of the USAF.

As for the Japanese MiG-25, being that it was never actually captured per se, I’m probably a no here

I didn’t know about the late production 262’s but I’m aware of the captured 262’s and Foxbats. But my point was that I’m against both of those being added to the US, so I feel the same about Belenkos Foxbat and Japan

Let me guess: if the developers give the F-5 Vietnam a premium in the next update to the USSR, then immediately forget what you just said about the MiG-25. I also want to remind you how the USSR cried over the Iranian F-14.
