Gaijin staff stated it multiple times.
Pretty sure @Leinadmix9_ツ and I wouldn’t be using it if it wasn’t okay’d by staff.

K so we concluded with testing and I can confirm that the 7F is a lot better than I expected, much smaller margin of difference than I thought before, 7F is superior at 5km or more, but it’s a lot more similar to the E below that, the E has a sweet spot around 2.5-4.5km where I think it’s slightly more maneuverable than the F, but other than that small margin the 7F is better
E-2 btw, forgot the 2 my bad
Sorry I took a bit longer, something popped up.
But I’m back now, and here’s me testing Aim-120 guidance updating without datalink on the aircraft:
As seen here by my first launch and final launch in this video, the missile doesn’t gain updated from the aircraft’s TWS target pings (and no TWS icon on the radar screen are visible, due to it not having datalink).
Although the missile tries to predict the flight path of the aircraft as seen in the video, it doesn’t get the updates that datalink would give it, leading it to fail to lock the target both times. If the JA37Di doesn’t get it 4 datalink channels in the upcoming update, it will suffer from the same issue the AV-8B+ does…
In these photos, not only can you see the absence of the datalink targets on the radar screen ingame, but the missile will ofc still try to predict the targets location/trajectory as always. Using the TWS will do nothing for the missile, I don’t think anything will once its off the rail.
Either people are complaining about the fact it’s a “top” tier premium or just because of this:
Come on guys, it’s not like peak Zelensky’s Barrel Plane efficiency but it’s a new vehicle.
ive tried looking into its datalink but the manuals just say “refer to secret page” and i dont have access to the two manuals its in
Edit: as of 5 mins ago ive been given a source on the hunter link so i may be able to find something in it… tomorrow
Did some tests, viggen pulls around 22 deg/s at max and similar aoa in full real and rb
irl it went above 30, the viggen itself had a peace time limiter of 23 deg/s aoa sorta thing but also partially due to the engine which to my knowledge is ignored in game (f16)
maybe we can make the airframe somewhat decent for new players to not stall themselves and call this beautiful plane bad
Pay to succeed is fine, pay to progress is fine, pay to win in a game like this should never be okay.
AIM-7F are literally the best radar missiles in the game
R27ER would like to have word with you.
Id imagine the problem being you hard-locking the target on launch. U should try pure TWS guidance.
(edit.) Actually looking at it now I see that 1st two shots were simply notched, nothing to do with DL channels.
I meant 12.0 BR specifically since that was the point of discussion. Shouldve worded it differently
Fair enough then.
Id imagine the problem being you hard-locking the target on launch
That means literally nothing. I do that regularly on targets with DL channels and they guide in perfectly fine and targets show up on radar while receiving corse corrections as well.
For the first shot, yes my aircraft’s radar was notched later on, but it was notched at such a late point that the missile would have gained a lock by then. Based on the angle the Aim120 was coming in from it also couldn’t have been notched itself. The second one could have been notched yes, especially as I stopped providing guidance after a bit.
However I have yet to see anyone other than you claim it acts as infinite datalink channels, especially when everyone always complain about a lack of channels on the harrier. If the lack of DL channels was truly an advantage I’m sure I’d see a bit less talk about it, or at least have heard about it before now.
If you still don’t believe me I’ll hop into another custom and give it a try again, but I’m positive I’ll see the same results.
Good luck giving it historical flight performance, gaijin takes forever in updating FMs unless its nerfs.
depends when the report is made
Given the AV-8B+, one of the most modern Aim-120 slingers ingame, is missing its datalink channels, all I’ll say is good luck on getting some for the viggen…
Yeah
F 35/A35XD which has chaff/flares, missiles and bombs all at the same time
Would be about 1970ish as the first actual paid for draken didn’t arrive here in denmark until 72, of which only 3 arrived to begin with. It was the 80s iirc that we changed them to have the CM’s and a few other changes to the vehicle.
Previous premium only Viggen Di moved to the techtree. Foldered with JA37D. New JA37Di (F21) added as a premium.
