This seem to show 20km range although it should be 30km?
Could that be caused by the ground clutter? It’s showing that there is some that could affect it

Aint that lock range?
The detection range is 30km and it can be increased to 60km but the lock range is only 20km
I can lock beyond 20km, but can’t see anything beyond 20 lol.
i consider track and lock the same in this situation
Yeah, and it didn’t used to be this, used to be the full green in 30 km, I mean I can lock but just can’t search RN.

I remember J-8B has always had 20km lock range and longer detection range (like 40km?) If lock range was ever nerfed, it was a long time ago.
SRC=60km, TRK=20km
try to go high alt and you could search enemy on much further distance
