is it just me or j7e loadout seems underwhelming 4 rear aspect missile at 11.3 while f5e-fcu at the same br gets 4 all aspect missiles not to talk about that 0.3 br higher there is a mig 23 with 2 r24r and 4 r60m
while irl the j7e can use pl8 and also has hmd
Because it has ridiculous flight performance, and a great RWR. There’s a reason why it’s the highest rear aspect IR only user.
With PL-8s it would be 12.0, and with the 8Bs would be 12.7. I personally don’t want to see a loadout change, but rather the addition of later variants.
Just add the J7F with HMD iirc

isnt that like irccm ? The mirage f1c is 12.0 with a horrible airframe just bc of 2 irccm missiles. Pl5cs would make that thing go to 12.3 or so.
You are confusing PL5C, which is an all-aspect PL5, with PL5EII, which is an all-aspect PL5 with IRCCM.

The should give it 4x pl8b and hms while moving it up to 12.7
11.0-12.0. Rear-aspect is still very common and not out of place.
If im not mistaken, those PL-5Bs are actually some of the better IR missiles at that BR (Excluding anything with IRCCM)
They are a bit like the 9G seeker IIRC. While having better G pull.
On a plane that can comfortably dogfight basically anything at the Br and win pretty easily.
No loadout upgrades are needed.
Take the mirage f1c. If it had Magic 1s it would be 11.0 BR or something and not the mid AF struggle bus we have at 12.0.
Give the J7E better fox 2 and it still fights radar carriers every game, just much better ones…why do you think this is better?

The rear aspect PL-5s on the J7E are not a handicap considering getting behind someone with its airframe takes very little effort, they’re already ahead of any other IR missile In kinematics at its BR range for dogfighting, along with ambushing due to their short-burn motor.
The only thing that holds the J7E back is the lack of ammo for the cannon, but if you can actually hit your shots with short bursts then it’s not too much of an issue.
Mirage F1C with Magic 1 would be 11.3 like the F-4E (personally think that would be a stronger place for it anyway even without magic II but i digress)
Same thing with J7E. Imagine it at 12.3 with IRCCM missiles, no thanks.

Don’t worry, there’s only one aircraft with that missile, the JH-7. The confusion is normal; almost nobody knows or has used that missile.
