At the tail is an omnidirectional radar warning receiver, and there is no elevation angle blind zone at this position.

The J-16’s RWR antenna has canceled the exposed design and is integrated into body structures such as the flaps. Its warning reception measure pitch angle (excluding the rear) should be 45 to 60 degrees. As for the MAWS, it is still unclear. It is reported that it may be using the BM/KJ 8602C (all the ones currently provided are A).
A total of 96 expendable jamming devices can be deployed. China also seems to have a small jammer that can carry two units at one point. The towed jamming device on the J-16 also seems to be integrated under the tail and belly.
