They honestly are. If you’re firing them above 12 miles away, pretty much ANY fox 3 can be defeated using a couple brain cells. PL-12s are also way better at short-range than the Aim-120, whilst having the same time to target as an Aim-120B at 12 miles.

Still aim 120 not being capable enough(ingame) shouldnt be a reason why new version of pl-12 cant be added , same thing applies to aim 120 when we consider how ds r-77/77-1s are
120c is a downgrade if anything but yeah
if anyone says 120c5 is not so good, then buff the 120c5 same time when adding pl12a. but r77-1 is widely recognized as a stronger msl.
The J-10C in it’s current form, similar to planes like the F-15C GE and F/A-18E etc, exist at 14.3 purely to be food for the Rafale and AESA EFTs lol.

Bro the only thing that can be changed for the J10C is its engine, weaponry won’t, Because next-gen missiles won’t come yet. The PL-12 is absolutely fine as is, and is an even better weapon than the 120 in the current meta.

technically no and yes but mostly no PL12 is similar to the mica in most regards but worse while its a decent missile its only good in WVR it matches up fairly well at BVR with AIM-120A but has a bit of a edge in close range and the with things like C5 which trade close range for longrange manuvering it makes sense also next year it will be recieving PL-15 and PL-10s this has been confirmed PL12AE assuming its nothing crazy itll probably just pull more g or something similar to mica
and im pretty sure the R77-1 just does better at most things just on a worse airframe
Confirmed where? Just because it’s sitting in unused files doesn’t mean that they will be coming anytime soon, Gaijin have only stated that IIR missiles will be coming next year, not better Fox-3 missiles, which rules out the PL-15.

I’ve always found it really confusing when people talk about BVR performance. How can you die from BVR? BVR is only effective against bots and it’s the least reliable way to get kills. WVR is what’s really necessary. Most of my deaths are from being shot at distances under 10km.
So I looked in that dev-stream video and there were two questions asked to Oxy.
1:04:47 Question: “PL-15 Planned?”
Answer: “Not right now, probably for the future. I wouldn’t expect it to come this update”
1:05:11 Question: “New gen missiles when?”
Answer: “Not this update, probably next year”.
The two questions were unrelated. Neither the PL-15 has been confirmed for next year and neither has new gen missiles have been hard confirmed for next year (new gen missiles in my opinion being new gen ARHs).
what arh are you refering too them adding ? new gen missiles are likely new toptier missiles to even the playing field between most countrys unless your refering to sarh which there are none major left to add

honestly PL-12AE would be fine to add to the J10C since it is gonna be 14.3 and some countrys have already gotten 3 upgraded missiles
PL-12AE wouldnt really be that big of a deal its not gonna be a mica level missile but it will be a little better from current one

In my opinion, there’s a generation of missiles that can come prior to very long range missiles such as Meteor, PL-15, R-37M, and AIM-174B.
These would be things like AAM-4B, AIM-120D, R-77M, and potentially PL-12A etc.
Unless Gaijin thinks PL-15 is just a slight upgrade and in the realm more of AIM-120D, R-77M
