HISTORY
In 1975 Magirus became an part of Iveco, and because of this every truck for some years was named Iveco Magirus, this name were more or less completely gone by the end of the 1970’s. The Magirus 168 FAL is a 4x4 truck that replaced the Bedford R series in the early 1980s and was then in widespread use by the Danish army. The vehicle was first designated as the Magirus 168M11FAL, but has been redesignated as the IVECO 110 - 16 by the manufacturer. With the new name came some minor changes such as the brakes becoming air-over-mechanical rather than air-over-hydraulic.
The Iveco Magirus 110-17 AW was purchased second-hand in 2002 from the German Bundeswehr, which then replaced the aging Bedford MJP2 as a Trackway portable roadway in the Danish army. The vehicle has the same features as the Magirus 168 except for dual rear wheels and some minor details. They came in variants both with and without 4-wheel drive.
The vehicle did in Danish service come in many shapes and forms, and a smaller amount were used by the vehicle was along with other brands/different vehicles at this time, also used with a 12.7mm quadrilateral cannon of the anti-aircraft battery, for use in close range anti air defence by the artillery units. The vehicle can be seen with the cannon mounted in the image above, where it is bering prepared to shoot at an unknown shooting range.
IN GAME
In game this could be an interesting vehicle to have placed at Rank 4, maybe higher but i don’t know how a quad 12.7mm cannon would work there, but i am positive it would do quite well with an Battlerating of around 3.0.4.0+. It has great mobility and power, wich opens for many possibilities.
