DESCRIPTION
In late October 2024 the Norwegian Armed Forces and the Norwegian Defence Research Institute did a live fire test. This test featured a Norwegian Iveco LMW with a Kongsberg Protector RS4 remote turret installed. This was equipped with one 12.7mm M2 browning and 2x tubes mounted on the side with 1x 70mm FZ275 laser guided rocket each, these rockets are semi semi-active laser guided. In the article from The Norwegian Defence Research Institute they were testing a new way of engaging targets, which included one fpv drone to be hovering above the target and use an included laser pointer/targeting system to guide the rocket (Sort of like the strike drones in-game). This gives the system a very long operational distance of 7+ kilometer, and an accuracy of ca 1 meter. These rockets can be used and aimed independently without the drone, making it great for shorter distances where you have a visual range. The vehicle does also come with the Norwegian Vingtaqs II telescopic mast, which can be extended from 3-8 meters tall, and be used for the targeting of enemy vehicles, with it being equipped with all necessary equipment for operation of the remote weapon station.

The vehicle itself is an Iveco LMW, developed in Italia by iveco itself with the planning and drawing stage beginning in the late 1990’s and the first vehicles being built in 2001, it is a 4 wheel drive tactical vehicle which comes in many variants and forms, all depending on the user’s requests. The vehicle has been adopted by a number of nations like Norway, Russia, Spain, Belgium, Brazil etc.

IN GAME
In game this would probably work similar to the way that the various missiles from the strike drones in-game work, with you requiring to aim and follow the target until it strikes. With it’s minimum range being 1.5km it is very useful on a lot of maps, and it will be fantastic against lighter armored vehicles such as Ifv’s, light tanks and spaa’s, it can also highly effectively be used against uav’s, drones and helicopters. In my opinion it could be a great addition somewhere between rank 6-8. I haven’t been able to find all the ammunition it can use, but it can both use HE warheads and also rockets that penetrate around 70-300mm of rha and explodes Post penetration, this would significantly increase its performance
