It's not looking great for the F-14D 'Super Tomcat'

But in the end, the launch took place?

yes with heavy modifications to the airframe which is why it wont get them likely

Why not? this is not real life, this is game

How do you know it needs an adapter to carry aim120 for the sparrow pylons? As from what I’m aware of all that was needed was a software update

Hopefully if there is a premium F-14 it would be the F-14A or B (upgrade) that bought those F-14s up to the Ds avionic standards and the D will be TT. That would be a fair way to implement it IMO.
Unfortunately “best versions as premiums” seems to becoming a trend now, between the RDF/LT, Nagato, Jean Bart, that new British plane they are adding, the multi vehicle packs all having extra add on armour and/ or camo nets, camo nets on the new premiums that are not available on the TT variants and with the PL-12 nerf the Su-30MKK is the only Chinese plane that has both long and short range ARH missiles.

Sometimes it’s allowed, and sometimes it isn’t—only a Gaijin or someone who can see the future would know.
The Yak-141 is a good example of this type of problem.

Nagato and Jambal are the worst tragedy

Cmon dude this plane was flight and tested.
For me and like 99% of players, this is enough to stay in the game.
ships even include the Soviet Union, a paper battleship.

This is something a forum moderator actually said once: “The standards for land and air vehicles are different from those for naval vessels.” I’m pretty sure he said that while we were discussing tested weaponry or paper-plan aircraft.

Anyway, getting back to the F-14, honestly, I don’t really care whether the AMRAAM is included or not. An F-14D equipped with an AMRAAM was never a real-world combination, so I’d be happy just to see it in the game. However, in reality, the AMRAAM was only tested on an F-14A that had been modified with upgraded avionics for evaluation purposes. Personally, I think that test F-14A should be implemented as a separate variant.

P.S. And if I’m going to see a Tomcat armed with AMRAAMs, I’d rather it be something crazy like the Super Tomcat 21 than an F-14D or a test aircraft.

the problem with the F14 with AIM-120 is that it would be forced to compete with EFTs and other planes with no HMD and only AIM-120s and AIM-9Ms assuming it gets max load of 8 it would be minimum 13.7 facing 14.7s which isnt fun at all

the REAL active service F14D would 13.0 with AIM-7P and AIM-9M with new radar and would be the strongest american 13.0 fighter
worst thing it could face is the SU33 which it stands a far better chance than any other plane in the US tree

at 13.7 you would be facing SU30 SM, SM2, EFT AESA RAFALE

at 13.0 you fight none of that worst demon youll actually face is a JAS39E but the strongest 14.0 in the game is still the F15E which is on your team

giving it aim-120s would just make it unplayble like current F14B

That’s a mockup used as a proof of concept sorta like AMBER racks for the F-15. It did not reach the stage where it was a functional prototype.

So

minimum 13.3 if it gets six AIM-120As (assuming Gaijin will model it based on F-14D SAC, nothing else), like F-16A ADF. I doubt that having AIM-9M will push it up to 13.7 with just six ARHs, considering the fact that the F-14D still has a dated airframe with an unchanged powerplant from the F-14B.

That’s for the dual amraam racks witch would be the lau127

Edit:also that doesn’t show it needs an adapter to carry aim120 on the sparrow pylons

F-14A testbed for the AIM-120.

F14A-65-GR was the test bed for the f14 in general to have aim120 specifically it was the F14C was supposed to also have aim120 but the f14C never end up coming to be so the f14D was supposed to use aim120 until funding cuts reduced the capability of the apg71 radar(as seen F14 photos testing harm, harpoons, and other CAS equipment)and then after that I think it was another funding cut that also didn’t allow for the F14D software update and CAS capability was chosen over amraam

The thing is this isnt the first time they have cucked american naval fighters
Remember the F-4S? its the best naval phantom the US can get and it was added as a preimum so US is stuck with the F-4E and F-4J as side grades of each other instead

To be honest, I’ve said a lot of things, but I’m the one who’s most concerned about the BR issue.
