When it comes to 5th gen I’m sure it’ll be up to gaijin balancing wise. I can only give a blueprint and let them work from there. But, to answer your question, yes.

The British towed decoys at least have power cables built into the towing cable, allowing them to be powered from the aircrafts power supply for as long as needed.
Jamming could also bring back some gun fights here or there. Could also mess with other munitions like man in the loop and GPS bombs by telling them to go else where.
I could see ECM degrading or completely disallowing MITL if the aircraft or more likely munition is within range of a jammer. Would hinder MITL against moving targets before the seeker can track, but for stationary targets it wouldn’t change much.
GPS bombs finally getting a IOG drift value > 0 once within range of/being affected by jammers would be nice too.
True though this will be hard to accomplish without it becoming RNG or to complex to use. Gaijin out of simplicity will likely have some sort of EW fog where your radar or missile accuracy goes a little wobbly.
Wouldn’t say out of simplicity, that’s generally an end result of being affected by jamming (if we ignore ECCM being a thing).
We already saw the most basic form of ECM in the first iteration of Nuclear Escalation (I almost called it ‘Nuclear Thunder’ then, whoops 😅), I suppose that could be what’s given to lower tiers and the more complex at or near top tier.
The good news for us is that from the player’s POV, it’s still just a button to press, nothing to think about really.

There are more complex ways Gaijin can jam things but it’s likely ideal to keep it dumb simple. Overall Jamming at times becomes a double edge sword but a good chunk of EW is classified and what information we get is its a black metal box that is plugged in and occasionally changed out. The system does what it does and the operator’s them selves don’t understand what there doing at times. Gaijin has its work cut out for them.

I’d wager Gaijin is working on ECM right now. It’s going to take a while to gather information on all the aircraft already in game.
I don’t like the idea of putting a time limit on the ECM. It seems arcady and not all that necessary. Both AIM-120s and R-77s can home-on-jam. I don’t think this is going to be very disruptive to air RB.
