I recently started grinding the German tech tree more seriously after getting a taste of the Leopard 2A7HU and falling in love with it. Naturally, I decided Germany would be the next logical step. However, after looking into what both nations might have to offer in the future, I am starting to wonder whether I might be better off finishing Italy and then continuing another tech tree.
From what I have found, Germany’s future lineup does not look particularly exciting compared to Italy’s. In some ways, Italy feels like Germany with more variety. While the Ariete is not exactly impressive, Italy has access to fantastic light tanks like the Centauro 2, decent CAS options with the Italian Eurofighter, which generally seems better than the German one, and potentially some interesting additions in the future.
There is also the possibility of Italy receiving vehicles like the KF51, the Spanish Leopard 2E, or even the Romanian M1A2 SEP V3, whereas Germany’s future additions seem a lot less exciting in comparison.
So, what do you guys think? Is Germany still worth grinding, or would Italy offer a similar, potentially even better top tier experience with more variety and interesting vehicles to look forward to?
Potentially yes. Although so far there is no KF51/NMBT outside of demonstrators. Romanian M1A2 hasn’t arrived yet (there is also a chance for K2 btw). And there is no sign of Spanish 2E to be added to Italy, as Spain isn’t an Italian subtree.
At this point of the time we can get serial Centauro 2, C2 Ariete and armor pack for 2A7HU, either as a researchable modification or a separate vehicle.
In all seriousness all depends on gajin and what they add Germany have been a huge developer in next gen mbts like kf51 and a.rc 3.0 and other things like boxer t40 or boxer tracked 120 and ofc all the leopards like 2a7a1 2a8 2a7+ 🤷♀️ it just all depends on what gajin adds
Also there’s no reason to believe the 2E would go to Italy. Spain isn’t a sub tree and has no Italian involvement. It would be German
At the moment, the German EFT is actually the better of the 3 for CAS as it gains the HOSBOs, which means it can run 12x IR Glide bombs, vs the other 8. Not a massive difference but a difference nonetheless
In all other respects so far, they have kept all the EFTs identical in terms of A2G, so its highly unlikely that the Italian or German ones will fall behind the British one in terms of CAS power (Britain should have the best A2G weapons available as most of them are being developed by Britain like Brimstone, Spear and Paveway IV)
