Issues with the 39M Csaba

If you would like to contribute to the Bug Report: Community Bug Reporting System

The 39M Csaba as it is presented in game has a few issues that reduce its performance in game. Let’s be honest, it already is a sub-par choice for 1.0, so really it should be modelled as accurately as possible to increase its effectiveness.

Firstly: the main armament, the Solothurn S-18/100 20 mm anti-tank rifle. It is related to the S-1000 as found on the L3/33 CC tankette. Both AT rifles have a shoulder stock for the gunner to aim, which is translated in-game as having a low speed stabilizer. The L3 gets the stabilizer, the Csaba does not, but it should. The shoulder stock is modeled and can be seen in the X-Ray.

Csaba interior. The 20 mm main armament is on the left, the machine gun is on the right.

Secondly, the hull armor values are slightly too low. The sides and rear of the vehicle should be 9 mm thick, not 7 mm. A small increase, but again, every bit helps. Multiple Hungarian sources state that only the roof armor was 7 mm, the sides were 9 mm thick and the front was 13 mm.

Great to see possibilities that it can be buffed, no matter how small they may seem. It’s a real struggle bus, that thing.
But consider submitting a bug report on the dedicated site (Community Bug Reporting System), they don’t really check forum posts here (though sometimes I wonder if they even check the bug reports there either). But hey, it’s better than nothing and has a bigger chance to get noticed there and fixed.

I made a bug report as well, thanks for the advice. I’d especially like the stabilizer issue to be fixed, if we ever get more Hungarian tanks like the earlier variants of the Toldi, they have the same 20 mm anti-tank gun that should be stabilized at low speed. Some sources state the magazines had to be reduced in size to 4 rounds due to a lack of interior space.

I agree that it definitely needs some help, low speed stabiliser would definitely be an improvement. I’m glad you made a bug report, fingers crossed they do something!

Here is a photo clearly showing off the shoulder stock of the AT rifle in the Csaba. I have blurred and cropped the photo as the original shows the aftermath of multiple 37 mm penetrations and two deceased soldiers. The original photo can be seen in Peter Muzjer’s Huns on Wheels, Page 82.

It definitely hasn’t been implemented yet!

@Smin1080p_WT hello, sorry to bother you, but could you help with this report? It’s marked as fixed, although the issue is still presented.
