What are you on about. You get in a good postilion and angle then fire. You also try to angle when you encounter someone it’s not rocket science.
Like I said ,if you want to sit there all day without moving …oh and win rates ? You don’t have to be that much of a genius to understand.
Your point is invalid. Obviously if someone has seen where I am or the position is compromised I’m going to find a new position to go to. So, this conversation serves zero purpose with the thread.
No it’s not ,you can’t angle on the move ,angling does nothing now we have HE throwers all over the game.Played loads of games in the Tiger. It was fun ,now it isn’t ,simple.Could say the same for 6BR Germany in general.
The though that a German player just sits in one spot the entire game is absolutely hilarious to me. Because that’s simply not true.
It actually does do something against HE. Secondly I’m not talking about when you’re on the move. I’m talking about when you have a good position in which you can angle and ambush enemy players from. So, I don’t know what point your trying to make with the whole move and angle at the same time thing.
I have probably played more games as Germany than you have played games.Yes it’s is a broad observation but if you look at the Win rate charts around low mid BR Germany is shockingly bad ,up there with USA at top tier.I struggle to believe it to a degree but the only reason I can possibly give is that in some BRs German vehicles are very defensive and open to being hit on the move at the sides, especially in built up areas.
Then we have many SP guns also better for defence. Nashorn,Waffentrager ,all better for hiding and sniping. I have studied replays and looked at my own play and found this to be true to a degree. it is observation not hard statistics so it is open to debate but even at 4BR all the Germans have as an actual tank is the captured T34.
Everything else is an SP or Tank-destroyer.2-3BR Germany attack much better because they have the Panzer IV but tactics seem to change later on after 5 -6 BR.Then German tree has much lighter post war tanks with no armour and tactics change again .
It is harder trying to take and hold a zone in a fixed gun vehicles or a big tank that is vulnerable at the sides.
My point is ,we all know the supposed tactics for using the Tiger and they are quite defensive.Flanking, using cover, using range and armour and yes ,angling possibly but while that is going on others are taking zones and pushing forward.
Just have a think about it.
I used to love playing the H1 and especially the Tiger E.Now one shot from the M51 and M109 etc is just devastating and I might as well be in a small light heat firer myself.
M51 and the M109 are probably the only vehicles that can do damage to a giver head on using HE.
They are a relatively new nuisance I remember the game before them.
You could creep around a Tiger with an M18 and take it out one shot from the side and maybe, rarely with a fluke or every good shot from distance via the cupola or MG port but it was very rare and you had to salute the enemy when they did it.Same with any enemy heavy.Russia had ,what,205mm of pen tops so it was possible that they might take you out but hull down in cover ,and with bushes in my case, you could play the tiger how it was meant to be and bounce a few shots. In short you felt safe and confident.
Not now it’s just boom! …WTF ,you are gone, goodbye or hugely damaged. If people can’t notice that change then they a have not played Germany much or played it lately ,that is all I can say.
6BR Germany was my home now I rarely bother.
Tiger is one of my favorite heavies. A lot of people will talk about some niche tank being able to autopen it but it isnt much of an issue.
Just like any tank, you should try to not get shot in the first place. It has the armor to block anything under 85mm easily. It can block up to 122mm rounds in a good postion.
It good but you have Swedish anti tank like the ikv 103 from the 50s at 4 BR with 400 mm of pen ,what then for your Tiger? The Tiger is a good 40s tank but how good is it in 1950 or even 1980? That is my point.
I would heavly disagree.
Talking from a position of someone who plays USA a lot.
I make it work. Not a playstyle for everyone.
No matter the playstyle, cupola weakspot makes Your life miserable even against 75mm guns.
I made it work for a long time but I can’t be bothered any more.I really dont know why 6BR was flooded with silly artillery.Artillery isn’t even for short range encounters.I wouldn’t mind of you could fire indirectly.
How stupid are you willing to let this game get?
True. I have had that happen a couple times.
That 88mm Gun just sucks in shots like a magnet.Fire up into the sky and you will smash the Tigers Gun one shot.Just a silly physics like the Turret ring in the M1 Abrams.Hitting the center of a dart board from half a mile away : )
This is one of the first things I aim at as it kills the whole crew in a turret or at least a gunner, making Tiger H1 basically dead.
I always prefered long 88 or 75 from panther.
I might argue the 5.7 panther is more useful that the Tiger H1. What do you think? I find that really early Panther at 5BR also works like an M18 on the right map with a bit of luck and cover.
