Is this able to run War Thunder? If so, do I have too much installed?

Those are my current hardware specs. Please help me, I miss War Thunder. I have Steam and like maybe 5(?) games installed. I was able to run it on this laptop 4(?) years ago with no real issues, but I miss this game and want to play properly again. As it stands, I can do maybe 10 FPS per game on the ground in Realistic Ground, but flying near the ground trying to do CAS will lock me to close to 0 and cause me to crash. It also freezes at times and generates errors, but I can close those and it’ll log me in, which is…odd, because usually it simply forces me to close my game and send errors. But I would love to play this game again on my laptop, and I can almost play again.

Im sorry, but you just have a bad computer for the most part… If you close out of everything else you’re running and put the game in old graphics card mode, you may see a small increase in FPS. I would say the fact that you’re stuck with 8GB of memory and a pretty bad integrated graphics system, it won’t run very well

The game has undergone quite a few changes between the 4 years have passed and since you’ve played, Currently i would say no you cannot run it smoothly with the specs you have. If anything it’ll just lead to frustration on your part.

It also seems your system is taking up half your RAM anyways which leaves you with 4gb to play with, which is not enough nowadays.

I see, are there any recommendations as to how to upgrade or what to upgrade to in order to play at least okay-ish? 20 FPS is good enough for me, I just wanna be able to play again.

If you were to point out the things that NEED to be upgraded, would it be just my graphics card and my memory? Or is there something else to add along those two?

It would really come down to your budget, but evidently you’d want to upgrade everything. From your images you’re barely running anything and already using up 40% ram & 50% cpu. It then goes up to 100% when using chrome.

Also I was trying to find certain specs what you’ve listed, It seems IOBIT is not safe to use (based from searches) I’m not sure if you installed that yourself or it came with your system but thought i’d mention it.

I should note that only War Thunder and Audio Pitch and Shift (a music app) are ever open when I play. If you have a better thing then I’m down for using it. But yeah, Chrome is closed when I game.

Buying a new gaming laptop is gonna be a pain. Any good recommendations?

I’ve not had experience with those two apps i’m afraid, Maybe someone else who see’s this post will be able to offer you recommendations. I have a system i built myself with high end components so i don’t usually take note on usage, i just know chrome takes up a lot on low end systems as i myself started on a low end system years ago.

This would depend on your budget, Is a laptop the only sollution for you? for example do you have space for a PC or do you need the laptop for studies etc?

The main reason i ask is you can build a fairly cheap budget pc nowadays for the price of pre-built laptops. And with the PC you’d have many more upgradeable options down the line.

I really only have room for a laptop. I had a PC but it stopped running War Thunder the moment Mach-2 capable fighters showed up in-game. It even froze my entire PC. Whatever was in that update changed the game itself to a point where I quite literally couldn’t even run the game. But for whatever reason, my laptop with arguably less space can run War Thunder.

I would like to have an option somewhere under $600 US if that’s at all possible. Plus, it would be nice to have something to take with me if I have to go anywhere, seeing as my console straight-up died on me.

Gotcha,

As it involes laptops/USD currency which i’m unfamiliar with, i’ll just provide you with links to certain sites which may help you.
