Is there a particular reason A10 variants spawn with fighters and arrive 2 min late to the middle?

Or is the reason “just because”?

Rank 6 and above attackers do not get any attacker airspawns, so they are forced to spawn with fighters. They did consider giving the A-10 and Su-25 airspawns further ahead, but decided to not implement them.

What was the reasoning behind it? If they have checked the statistics of each game, they would see A10 has maybe %30 of encounter duration compared to average fighter. If I am lucky i will have some leftovers. But nature of high BR game is basically you are having 5 minute games 60% of the time.

Thing with the A-10 and SU-25 but mainly the A-10 is that when you arrive at the battlefield, if you do get there you end up destroying everything in the ground, bleeding out the enemy team very fast, especially if there’s other pilots with the same aircraft.

But yea, you either don’t get there, because;
A) Your team is dead and the enemy team swarms you.
B) The entire enemy team is dead and the game is over.

As much as I disliked spading my A-10, I didn’t find it difficult. One good game covers up for 5 bad ones in my experience.

I agree, one good game brings a lot. But it just makes the game extremly unpleasant. Why don’t they have the same concerns in low br? If I spawn in Wyvern, I can literally get 30 targets in one pass. And it is prem vehicle like no such others.Maybe only DO-335 variants can counter such tactic.

I know it works like that because whenever I need money, I activate Thunderer wager and get into my Rank 5 F-84, spend 1800 round in one pass over ground targets and be done with the game. It should be consistent at least.

Thats a fair point.
The Wyvern is a strong aircraft, both in destroying ground units and fighting enemy fighters while being an excellent farmer (being its a premium). But because of everything combined it got its battle rating increased, its still good either way.

The A-10 or SU-25, I personally wouldn’t fly any of them in air battles if your main focus is air combat. I spaded my A-10 and the SU-25 with the intent of bringing them over to my ground lineups and that was it. Even their premium variants, I wouldn’t use them to “grind” the air tech tree.

I bought the Harrier T.10 for the UK last big sales because I lacked a “top tier” CAS platform and that’s what I use until I get something else, if I end up replacing it (big if). I do play it very very rarely on air battles and while its obviously not great, I knew what I signed up for and I still enjoy it :P

I think Gaijin just doesn’t care. At the moment, it’s pointless to carry bombs, because you’ll probably never get the chance to use them. It’s better to take missiles and fight against the odds with the leftover enemies swarming around you.

Yeah, but I found a semi reliable tactic that definitely works 40% of the time. In high BR, people don’t care about ground targets if enemy airplanes are alive. My tactic goes as follows

  1. Carry 24 GBU 39
  2. Climb to 3-4k altitude
  3. 8x of the altitude is reliable distance to drop GBU 39 but better test it in test mode if you want to find exact number
  4. Start to drop all bombs in static ground targets from around 30k distance
  5. You will get rid of all 24 bombs hopefully, before some bozo radar missile hits you
  6. Bombs will hit in 2 to 3 minutes from dropping, therefore you need to survive if your team is really in a bad situtation
  7. Return to base if you are last man, hug the ground, survive until all bombs hit their target, then fight back
  8. If battle goes in your favor or you feel it is going to be a long one go for ground targets and enemy planes as opportunity kills. you have 1000+ ammo for unbombed targets.

Check my last comment about GBU 39 spam. It is semi-fun tactic that feels good, if it works. Especially if you top it with enemy plane kills in ARB.

cause A10’s dont deserve anything good in life
