So once again Gaijin has released a “Special” vehicle most likely wont come back and i’m very curious if i should go for it?
It’s the one of the best P-51’s (premium) available in the game.
I’ve heard it’s very good. Basically a slightly less powerful D-30 at a lower BR
The problem isn’t the plane so much (although the rudder is terrible at high speed), it’s USA teams around that BR.
Your team will try to turn fight Yak-3s, Zeros, Ki-61s, Spitfires - all while getting BNZ’d by 109s.
6-8 mins in, 3/4 will be dead.
Have fun with that.
So is it worth $25 for it then?
Having flown both aircraft briefly (I mean very briefly) I would say yes it is. You get 2 pretty good aircraft for pretty cheap
You can always play sim instead where teams seem far more sensible.
I’d hold off on buying the P-51D-10 and wait for the anniversary sale to grab the P-51D-20 bundle. Unless you’re a collector, the D-10 isn’t worth it. Both planes are nearly identical, but the D-10 is placed in tougher battles due to its higher BR. Plus, the D-10 isn’t always available, and its standalone price of $25 for 5,000 Golden Eagles is steep compared to the often-discounted D-20 bundles.
I feel like P47M is not really it, doesn’t fit the meta no more, fights rarely happens at high altitude because of 25 minutes match timer, and tickets. At 5.7, low alt you will see yak3Us, spitfire Lf mk9, A7Ms, which out climb, out turns you by alot at low altitude, at high altitude, you will see griffon spitfires, which at 5-6km alt have plenty performance, and in slight up tier you will see ta152h. Unless you drag the fight to 7km upwards. D28 is probably a better thunderbolt overall, lower br too
Hmm. I personally didn’t feel like it was too bad… I’ve never played or like 47’s before but find that one to be somewhat fun
I personally never played D10, but I did play other P51, P51C, D30 and H, but just looking at the engine power of the D10, It has the same engine as the D30, while D30 being at 5.0 and D10 being at 4.3. I really don’t think D30 is good at 5.0 and P47D28 is just a better choice for solo. But yeah a 5.0 engine on a 4.3 plane I think it probably gonna be good, and is probably the best P51 within 4.0-5.0 br range. There are a lot of videos on youtube about it, just looking at the gameplay I think D10 is worth it. But for P47 I think P47D28/D30 (P47D28 and P47D30 is the exact same plane, D30 just have a airbrake) is overall a better P47 than M, it is also in a lower battle rating, P47M is no means a bad plane, it just doesn’t fit the match maker, P47D28 just fit the matchmaker better, it also have more engine power on web and 100% throttle. I think the problem of M also come from the fact that it has limited web and with the P47 climb rate you kind of forced to climb with web, and M doesn’t have nearly enough engine power for it’s weight once the web runs out, therefore I don’t M is worth that price, but D10 is probably worth it if you enjoyed other P51Ds
Yeah the D10 is just a baby D30. It’s like a step between the D-5/20 and D30. More ammo than the D20 but better flight characteristics than the either the D5/20. Also, all of the D series mustangs have the same engine.
I’ve played all of them, and it seems to be. But then again, once you understand the mustang it’s really easy to use and really fun.
Yeah, that all makes sense. But I have never really liked any of the 47’s I’ve always thought they were too big of planes. But I have seen them kick ass before. Maybe now that I’m more experienced I’ll have to go a fly them
To be honest, at least for me, in terms of solo play P47D28/D22 are easier than the P51D series, because although you are slower and all that but you do feel accelerate faster, and the rudder doesn’t really compress. And believe it or not you can win dogfight pretty easily with 109s or 190s especially with flaps down, just need to be careful if it go prolonged their retention and acceleration will eventually make them stall you out. Worst case scenario you have 8 50cals, so you can just go suicidal and headon everyone, if they full commit most you the time you can bring 1 or 2 with you at the end of the match. Unlike P51D30, I never really played P51D30, however I fought alot of P51Ds with Fw190D9, unless they start on my six, I can always just pull straight vertical and they will fall out under me pretty easily.
Yeah, like I said, I’ve seen some 47’s do crazy things, but they just don’t seem to be for me.
