I’m in doubt about upgrading France because it was announced that the devs are working on the new nation “United Korea” which will have my favorite tank but I don’t know if it will take long. I literally only think the Leclerc is beautiful because it looks like the K2 Black Panther, that’s why I’m thinking of buying the Leo 2 Premium from Netherland. I think it’s a difficult question because only those who have had experience receiving the news before will be able to answer, for example: the arrival of the Israeli and Swedish trees in the game. I just wanted an estimate!
IMO yes Korea is worth waiting for it (if its going to be added) - but I also suggested using existing threads;

Based on your experience and longevity in War Thunder, when would it arrive more or less? This year, 2026 or in about two years?
Last update this year might get a beta, then full release in first or second update 2026
United Korea will likely come after the next tech tree added to the game, which isn’t in the game yet.
And you should play and enjoy vehicles you like whether a new tech tree is coming or not.
United Korea is likely 2027 at the earliest.

If I’m not wrong. It will be a union of the Soviet Union and the United States. GAIJIN will put everything that the Soviet Union and the United States can’t put on this technology tree.
First the air tree will come, and later ground
Tbh, I’d really like to see United Korean TT in the nearest future and I wait for its arrival.
I know that takes like “it’s only plans in scale of Asian nations being represented, not the next major nation in WT” and “Korea is not going to be next because there is Yugo/Poland/LATAM bla bla bla” imply it is not the next nation to arrive, however it is the very first time we hear about nation(s) being represented as standalone TT since 2021, when Israeli TT was announced.
Ik CM has already stated these are general plans and everything is subject to change, but the fact that we haven’t had a single official mentioning of next standalone TT for last 4 years makes me believe Korea shall arrive next year, or will be the next independent TT.
My best guess would be to look forward for future datamines and leaks, specifically in 2026. We’ll probably see other nation-specific vehicles in them leak lists and datamines to determine which next independent TT we are getting. I doubt we will be getting Yugo or PL/CZ/SK or LATAM TT next as if we were really to get one of these, devs would have told us or, at least, hinted about such plans before Korea announcements.
My only fear is that it’s going to be a lot of sloppy-paste. I recommend you to wait until we get more information before making a decision. France can be a challenging tree to grind, but if you like some flavor it’s definitely worth giving it a shot to grind from the start. Rank IV can be a bit of a chore, but it gets real fun at Rank V again and onwards.
Korea will have a new domestic set of vehicles, especially North Korea, also the K2 should be pretty nice.
We know that the United Korea tech tree is just in the planning phase right now. It’s probably not the next tech tree being added to the game, as some leaks suggest that a Poland/Eastern Europe tech tree will come first.
Whenever it does come, Gaijin will probably follow the same model that they have for other new independent nation introductions.
- A major update will add pre-order vehicles for the air tree. Purchasing these vehicles means you will be able to participate in the air tree’s closed beta test when it opens.
- The next major update will begin the air tree’s closed beta test, which will have a researchable tree to progress through. This major update will also add pre-order vehicles for the ground tree.
- The next major update will mark the official release of the air tree, so players without the pre-order vehicles can begin research on it. It will also add the closed beta test ground tree.
- The next major update will officially release the ground tree.
That’s how it’s worked so far, and that’s probably how it will work when Korea is added to the game.
As for when to expect Korea to be added, I would say no sooner than the second half of 2026. The Korean air tree basically needs the Boramae as one of Korea’s most high-profile indigenous fighters, and we know from BVVD’s statements that 5th-generation aircraft won’t be coming to the game any sooner than the second half of 2026.
It will probably be like the Chinese tree.
Low and mid tiers being a blend of US and Russian/Chinese vehicles (in this regard probably very similar to the Chinese tree), with the higher tiers having more domestic productions, that will be quite unique.
The question will be if they implement the lower tiers 1-3 or of they are skipping them like they did with Israel.
Depending on how much cope you’re able to generate, you can expect it anytime you want between the end of the year and the heat death of the universe
Good point. If that’s what the lower tiers are going to be like, my personal opinion would be to skip it like they did with Israel.
From rank II you will have a mix of unique/unique modified and plain foreign vehicles (CnP are in majority) and with every Rank up more and more unique vehicles will come.
Rank I wouldn’t bring a lot of vehicles.
Rank II or III is best option to start off from. Rank II can be a mixed with Rank I vehicles so you would have enough.
So Gaijin should be able to start pretty low.
