Is the killing method of 9M119M1 through fragmentation?

So, does it use 48.3mm fragmentation to kill all my crew? Its metal jet never even entered my turret interior! I’m a newbie at this game. I don’t understand why this shell is so powerful against the front of the M1. Maybe Russia should stop producing 3BM60 and switch to producing 3OF26 and 9M119M1 instead—then they could destroy outdated NATO tanks on a certain battlefield…

It’s the HE in the warhead overpressuring your tank through its 5.83KG of explosives (A fuck ton). The penetration of the 5.83KG is 48.3mm radially, so if the HE manages to break through an interior plate that thin, it will wreck your crew.

The T-58 looks at this and smiles.
Anyway, overpressure works so that if it has 48mm of pen, that’ll go through 48mm of raw thickness armour, ignoring angles and for the most part, ricochets. So if a large HE shell hits a heavily armoured plate on ur tank, it can still overpressure a less armoured plate below it. Kinda hard to describe but you’ll get it eventually

bro, why cannot pen tiger 1 in my FV 4005, it has 21 kg HE implant…

Cuz it’s hesh, for some reason the only good hesh is on the T-58, every other hesh seems to be rubbish. HE is much better to use than hesh

Its method of damaging comes through the cumulative, chemical jet of hot metal. For all intents and purposes, a guided missile is basically a guided HEAT shell. In this case, it’s tandem charged, which means it mostly negates ERA (unless relict).

Looking at how all of your crew died, it probably wasn’t the cause of the metal jet, you’ve just been over pressured, as that 5+ kg of TNT equivalent is even more than what you’d find on the HE shells, and if it had hit you in the commander’s sight, that will overpressure.

Hope this helped!

I still don’t know why the FV can’t do the same thing.

The T58 is premium. Case closed
