News of the technical works came later but March 31. Gaijin specifically noted that the infantry is a joke.

( I do genuinely hope to see infantry stuff come to the actual game as we don’t have many more vehicles to add )
War Thunder is a session game with 25 minute battles and limited revivals, you can’t make a battlefield out of it.

AI infantry will likely come to War Thunder at some stage as part of their grand battles plan.

play enlisted and you will realise that you absolutely can make war thunder into a battlefield like game. It is completley doable and by bringing infantry into WT its protecting enlisted from losing its charm as a ww2 shooter
No, enlisted is an infantry game and war thunder is a vehicles game. They are different things.
Banally in war thunder no map is designed for infantry battles.

The new one in the trailer may be, and that isn’t the point of infantry, they are useful because they can adapt to the environment, not the other way around
enlisted is infantry focused and runs vehicles in a more simulator style. battlefield does infantry but with arcadey tanks. WT could balance both and take on the FPS genre. plus there was a lot of people such as myself that were pretty hyped about the concept.
wouldn’t take much modification to make them work. maps in enlisted are not too different in design.

I’d rather believe in infantry than lazy gaijin redesigning all the maps. And it’s going to take a lot of modifications.
gaijin already has the assets from enlisted if they wanted. most the assets for that game are ported from WT so its not a stretch or taxing for development time. all the fundamentals do already exist.

So that might be one of them
A single static AT gun emplacement model exists, that’s a far cry from actual infantry.
