Survivability is great because the engine block is so big the two crewmen in the hull can survive a overpressure.
At the same time is surprisingly mobile for a superstructure and the ammo is also very good, when I play the Ho-Ri Production I mostly go for third person due to the limited gun limits.
It’s a way to go vehicle you should definitely try as the Japanese battle rating 7.3 is pretty decent.
Armor is obviously a issue at uptiers but mostly you’ll need to rely on mobility since the flat surface at the front is a weakspot which can take out the driver and the transmission even at downtiers.
How so? i never played it but on paper it seems very over tiered, armor isn’t thick enough and gun is worse than long 88. Every time i faced it it was very easy to kill with apds, heat and high pen AP, just a bit annoying to deal with because of the crew amount. Things similar to its play style around its br that i played like the AMX-50 Foch, IS-3/4, m103, Somua etc seem way better
Ignoring the massive liberties taken with this fake vehicle (1000hp engine and that its even in the game) its very very good, engine eats shells so crew is safe most the time and armour so thick you don’t need to fear lights until they flank you
It’s super good but definitely not as good as it used to be before the gun depression flap bug was fixed. You just have to use more of your brain now and make sure that flap isn’t up so you don’t get hit with an HE shell and just die. Other than that it’s still phenomenal, especially it’s torque, acceleration, and mobility in general.
90 degree sides and decent side armor = cracked angling
Not necessarily OP but it’s a joy to play, you don’t really get mobile TD’s with this much armor potential.
really fun to angle and then whip around and get a shot lol
absolutely absurd vehicle. 11 kills last game without dying. 6 crew is absurd, giving you maus levels of durability at a lower br. The only drawback is the round it uses has terrible sloped performance.
To be fair, the AMX M4, a 1950 vehicle has a 1000 hp engine, though yeah, there’s no way Japan in such conditions could have made an engine like that in those conditions.
I skipped it the first time because I thought it would be bad.
It’s exceptionnaly good. the shell works if you aim well and is precise, armor is excellent, mobility is decent.
You get a relatively good matchmaking from memory, 7.3 is a good spot.
People dont know that your roof is paper and won’t shoot HE at it so it’s pretty survivable.
7/10 for me, but i do enjoy TDs so it might be personal. If you really like turret definitely not worth picking up
Well, rather than not know, it’s that it was always close-top since its introduction, because the DM didn’t change with how it opens up, so it was literally a troll spot. It was only a few months ago when they finally fixed it.
The vehicle has a higher velocity than an 8.8cm. It’s meant to be used at a range. You are also aiming for the cheeks, due to experience fighting them. So, more or less.
@Russian_Bias1, the vehicle is excellent for its battle ranking. Its armor is also incredibly decent. You will fight some vehicles that can kill you, but if you keep your range, you’re relatively combat deadly.
It’s okay but a bit overtiered at 7.3 - It really ought to be 7.0 or maybe even 6.7 - Since it’s essentially just a Japanese Mini Ferdinand with less armor, less potent gun but better mobility. It’s overtiered in comparison to the Ferdinand because Minor Nation tax.
Not saying the Ferd is undertiered or anything, btw. Just saying in comparison. Ferd has its pros and cons.
