Before the Iranian F-14A Tomcat says “bye bye” I was thinking of getting it is it worth it?
Its a side grade from the normal F-14A but I think its worth it.

Yeah matchmaking is so bad right now for 12.3s. You’ll get a full team of Iranian F-14As while the enemy gets 13.3 aircraft.
Is it better then the original F-14A/B?
Honestly I’m planning to just not use it for like a month and rather grind my M2K a bit more
F-14A maybe but F-14B definitely not. It has better missiles than the A but is definitely a sidegrade rather than an upgrade
Nah, its a sidegrade. It loses out on long range IR missiles and trades SAHRs for the Fakour-90s. I mean the F-90s are good but they’re not the best close range.

Definitely get it now, its good enough that the prices of it will go up exponentially on the market going forward. I just dont recommend playing it now since everyone and their dog’s stepmother is playing it

29th I believe, until then its 50 USD in GE for all marks and then after that you’re at the mercy of the Gaijin Market
Use it before it rightfully gets put up in BR. F14s have made high tier unplayable for quite some time, if gaijin has any competence that will change

I feel like the introduction of this one will likely bring that to Gaijillas attention but hopefully they dont just throw it up into 13.7 with the dementors and rather decompress BRs a bit more

decompression wont fix full teams of F14s, i just got out of a match where all but 6 people in the match weren’t in tomcats, moving them to where that meta is not meta is better than sweeping it under the rug which a “decompress” would do, wherever the tomcat is, all others have suffered for months

Oh yeah nothung can fix that, over time though the event tomcat hype will end and teams will return to usual. The reason I recommend BR decompression is because of the pain on both ends of the spectrum as 11.3 can see the slingers and and the slingers can see 13.0s. Nevertheless Tomcats have been meta for far too long and honestly, as much as I love the plane, I’m starting to hate seeing them

Ofcourse, but the event has definitely made it worse. Beforehand there would be 3-4 each match but now its the entire team

i hated them before the event so imagine my misery as I play 12,3 with a subsonic with 4 aim 9m mislliles
