To be honest, the HSTV-L and its subsequent Successor the RDF-LT are already in a good place for what they are. I know that we have an earlier variant of the HSTV-L that used the ADMAG, and not the AAI’s version that used a Lycoming 650 hp gas turbine, X‑300 automatic transmission, hydro‑pneumatic suspension, and a 75 mm XM274 CTA autocannon with 2‑axis stabilization. But seeing how the Scout line needs a top tier Vehicle, I would say the AAI’s variant would be perfect to fill in the gap. With the addition of the Delta 6, it would be just competitive enough to be able to pen latter soviet MBT’s.
Considering that there was only one HSTV-L Made, it wouldn’t be farfetched to separate them into Early and Late models.
Though it could be argued that the RDF-LT, being a later development of the HSTV-L would not have the early version of the ADMAG.
