Is teamkilling teamkillers allowed or not?

It may be a stupid question, but I’ve been wondering about it since I received my 1-week ban today, because I teamkilled 2 people who teamkilled others en-masse, and they have apparently mass reported me for it.

So, do teamkilling teamkillers result in the same punishment?

I’m not asking my ban to be revoked, but the topic spiked my curiosity.
