Is south Africa the next country in game?

Today when I was checking WTlive, I saw this.

No. South Africa is a sub tree of Great Britain.

[Update 2.5 “Ixwa Strike”] was introduced on 10 March 2021. This update is notable for the introduction of the South African branch of the British tree and variable swept-wing aircraft.

But i thought there are other subtrees, why just south africa?

Greece is confirmed for israel.
hungary in italy and finland in sweden are currently the only other substantial sub trees with thailand in japan being a small branch, all the other sub nations have minimal implemented unique vehicles.
Taiwan and DDR dont exactly count as sub nations per se

I.e. an easy way to dump copy-pasted import designs into trees and call it a day

No its because Sub trees often don’t have enough sufficent amount of vehicles to really be their own tree.
Such as they do not have enough to form multiple lines.

south africa is already in WT.

If we were getting unique designs from those subtrees (like South Africa) I’d buy that argument

But just look at BeNeLux, it only has 3 domestic designs (all props), and it doesn’t provide anything that can’t be addressed by a domestic French designs aside from the AH-64E

The BeNeLux subtree isn’t being used to show off BeNeLux designs, nor to fill gaps in the French tree, it’s just adding in American/British/German designs

This would be about 25%, maybe 50% incorrect. I don’t make the game nor honestly care much about the Frenchies. Nor buffer stateland.

Even then, the differences with the vehicles are not ones that can be shown in-game except for smoke canisters.

I do want more south african aircraft added like the cheetah, Mirage F1AZ/CZ, bucc mk52, even the russian upgraded F1 AZ with RD-33 and R-73

South Africa can be a country by itself however when it comes to top tier it will lag behind. The old days are over and SADF is not as strong as it use to be. Yes there is some new tech in, but it is no longer a power house. What gajiin can do is create a African tech tree a combination of many nations then it will work. Cause Algeria and Marocoo are spending big on military and they have access to top of the line fighter jets.

I have seen them fly way back in 1995 in Luis Trichardt, I was at an air show there once.

not so fussed about it being its own tree due to all the SA ground vehicles are brit tree, but id like the South african aircraft being added to the air tree

Yes that will be cool Cheetah C and Ds in game. I have never been a mirage guy.
