Is R-77-1 that good?

If there is a missile that always kill me, it’s R-77-1.

I dodged close MICA, close Derby, close AMRAAM, close Darter, and close PL-12. R-77-1 is just the only missile that I cannot dodge. That said it got me thinking. was it really the missile overall performance. or is the saturation helps more? This missile carrier always is a plane with about a whole squad worth of ARH and even by the time furball happens, these people are always seem to still stock the entire Bulgarian SSR missile loadout in their plane.

Is there any “One” weaponry, idc the vehicle, BR, or the tree that you seem “unable” to dodge or counter?

R-27ER

Any other SARH or ARH I can deal with in the Tornado Gr4 with absolute ease. But defending against an R-27ER feels more like winning a lottery than anything else

Id love to know how, only thing I can do against sub15km MICA launch is to pray.

like… 100-degree notch with periodic chaff drop (don’t drop as you notch, drop some as you change altitude). in-between each chaff drop, you make little course adjustment, preferably the other way your chaff pattern indicate your flight pattern. for me it’s usually an incomplete chandelle that i broke off mid-course to go low and turn the opposite direction again. I only do manoeuvres like split-S if there’s several RWR ping coming at me.

Basically, I’m doing a notch, drop chaff in big packets instead of constant line (4 drop per packet), and perform another manoeuvre, be it full commit or not, to get out of the IoG and search.

eh, ive tried that too, still got domed by MICAs. i guess its back to keeping rafales at distance and not allowing them to fire at all.

If anything it’s always R-77 that domed me when doing that. it’s very consistent.

I can get killed by MICA if I notch wrong, but R-77 will crater my plane regardless of what I do. so I usually spawn later and hunt Stragglers in Eurocanards.
